I just wanted to say how great Levi looked this tournament. Maybe it was his lack of prior freestyle matches, but I didn't have particularly high hopes for him in freestyle. I'm a believer now! He is great at controlling center and aggressively hand fighting. His physicality, strength and the ability to get to the legs from tight quarters makes him a formidable opponent. It was also great to see him get a turn using the head between the thighs technique that so many wrestlers used at the World Championships. As he starts adding to his technique repertoire I foresee continued success for him in freestyle.

Forget the team score, take a look at Pete's score. 66 posts to 1,004 likes! I'm not great at math, but I think that's like 3 or maybe even 4 likes per post by Pete! 🙇‍♂️ A new board record?

I know envy is a sin, but I can't help but envy SlipperyPete's messages to reaction score ratio! While I plod away with inane posts like this one, hoping beyond hope to get back to the lowly ratio I had on the old Board, I must learn to accept that not everyone can be a @SlipperyPete !

4 weight classes to go tied 102-102 https://uww.org/event/u23-world-championships-1/team-rankings. However we have a min of 20 more points coming and Iran has a min of 20 points as well. They have 2 going for third... if they both win Iran wins.
No - Iran has 1 in the bronze medal match and the other in repechage. Their 97 kg wrestler has to win one match to make it to the bronze match. Iran could still get 4 points at 65 kg, but it's more likely they'll get 2.

Also, Rocco is guaranteed 8 points, so that gives the USA 130. Garavous could still get 2 points, but that's 50/50.

All that to say, the US is in a good spot to win the title.

Sure. Fans wanting opponent humiliation is universal I’m sure. I’m sure Iran wasn’t particularly comfortable with how DT beat their king the first two times out either. I think the perception—especially from Russia—is that to do so with wiley tricks and dumbfounding technique is the “higher form.” Not saying I agree—just what I’ve observed.
Recognizing that in the US we do appreciate endless gastanks and it is a fairly easy assumption that if we are superior at something the rest of the competitive world would frown at it.
However, in my lifetime the only dude I can think of who used pure superior technique to score explosively and outcondition opponents was 2 time Olympic gold medalist Levan Tediashvili. There may be others but he sticks out to me since he was the gold standard when I started paying attention.

I've been all warm and fuzzy today looking back to after Cael ran off his first 4 national titles. Then having PSU fans telling HR the next step would be Cael building his RTC into the best in the country and burying the HWC. Getting laughed off of their board for suggesting what was gonna happen was good stuff....really good stuff.

It’s going to be fun watching Levi’s progression. He jumped multiple levels this year in freestyle and he’s still only 21. By 2028 I assume he will be going 86kg and with where’s he at already plus his style he might be the one to beat Zahid
Speaking of Zahid, ole Taylor coached him up big time! Complete animal at worlds. Obviously Taylor learned the system from Cael. Goes to show that yes , Penn State gets the athletes but, to jump levels like they do the coaching is instrumental in their further development.
What Taylor did to Zahid was shocking.
As is what Cael does over and over again. I'd like to see Lee go to the NLWC ASAP. It's a shame he hasn't gotten to fulfill his dreams.
