I well remember a East Bladen team in 1973 that went to all the way to Ahoskie and won that game 6 -0 with a min to go in game. Ahoskie was undefeated until that game was played. We weren't even suppose to be able to stay on the field with them. Side note; EB's then was no other than Bob Lewis, the very next week he won his first or I should say a share of State 3 A title with Jamestown - Ragsdale 16 -16 tie with E. Blafen.

I am a little weary to jump completely on the E. Duplin bandwagon but if they come out and hand it to Clinton this Friday I'll be the first to say I think E. Duplin wins the east. Time will tell.
South Point should win them both. 2A and 2AA but the NCHSAA probably will limit them to one title game.
I like Hibritens defense but I do not buy in to the offense. Especially after playing in the worst conference in 2a football. They are good, but prime to get hit in the mouth early in playoffs due to not seeing the level of comp around the state. Not saying they will get beat early, just saying I am not ready to crown them until I see a couple games in the playoffs.
With Points For and Points Against looking like South Point, Belmont, I like Hibriten's chances:

Averaging 45 points per game and allowing only 4.7 points per game, these guys are good. the Newton Conover game didn't tell the truth. Hibriten had 3 touchdowns called back on questionable calls. N-C was awarded 3 turnovers where the ground caused a fumble on a runner that was clearly down. N-C plays good football, but that game was misleading.

Agreed. It may have been 2 that were called back. We had 4 get called back at West Iredell Friday night. At Draughn, we had a defensive back get called for "Blocking Below the Knees" when making a tackle, that's a 15 yard penalty that should have never been called!!! It does seem that some of these officials have a grudge or something. It's really consistent against Hibriten. Our guys have to beat the opposing team AND the officials!
