Just for fun any of you guys keeping up with any of these teams, let’s see your predictions!

I’m mostly picking blindly with these games. I’m only going by records from last year and returning players. I’m new to the area so I don’t know a whole lot about western NC teams. What would you say is strongest for McDowell, Offense or Defense?

They are pretty strong up front but don't have a lot of speed on the edge on defense which will hurt them against RS. They mostly have a power running game and can throw it decently to change it up. It will be an interesting game for sure... If McDowell can play ball control it can keep it close.

I’m definitely ready to find out how RS will be on defense. That’s what hurt them last year. When a team averages 350 rushing yards per game that should produce a lot of wins lol! I think it will be tough for anyone to stop them again this year. They just have too many weapons. All of them play defense too, so I’m sure they wore down last year and that was a big part of the defense not playing as well.

How do you think the late coaching change will effect them? Also I read you have a new QB. McDowell returns their primary QB but has a lot of new WRs and Rbs that are young but talented.

They are keeping the same offense they had. Really no need to change offense. The new QB was basically in the same system in his 8th grade and 9th grade year. The new coach’s offense he was bringing was also pretty similar, and he is just learning the terminology that the team already knows vs him trying to teach everyone his terminology. I think the offense will turn a few more pages than than they previously have and make a few more passes, but all in all there really won’t be any major changes. I do think he will be good for RS Central.

RS may have scored 6 on past McDowell teams but this isn't the same old Titans. RS weakness on the offensive and defensive lines was glaring. Their QB struggled at times to make the right reads as well. RS also had very very low numbers and its never good when you lose your coach right before the season starts.

We had two OL out with Covid, and another started throwing up in the 2nd qtr. if we don’t get them back in a hurry it will be a long season. The DL needs all kinds of help.
