3:30 game time for Maryland

with sunset coming around 430-445, this is the part of the season where I prefer the noon start.
On the flip side, 12 noon start means 8 am tailgating which provides quite a nip in the family jewel region. .
love 3:30. Get to the lot by noon for 3hrs of tailgating

Not if you tailgate before dawn. Mornings are brutally cold in late November.
I get that, but for "normal" tailgaters who do a 3-4 hour tailgate, starting a tailgate at 11-12 is way better than at 8-9 am. I'll live with the 2nd half being in the dark (sunset is 4:34 pm that day, but it won't be "completely" dark for about another 25 minutes after that, i.e., civil twilight).
As I said elsewhere, that's what long underwear, layers and expedition gear is for!
If it was noon, people will complain, if it was a Saturday night game people will complain, so 3:30 also has people complaining.

I really don’t see a ton of complaints. It’s more like I posted - would prefer noon this time of year but will take 3:30.

Ok I'll complain. 3:30 games are the absolute worst for me.
Translates to a 3:30 AM kick off.
Love those night games. Watch them while I'm eating my Sunday breakfast.
Which is why we get the noon games in hotter months and 3:30 and night games come November. Noon is for the "real" Big Ten teams in November.
The scene where Walter Matthau comes to Sophia Loren's house with a box of wine is my favorite.

Going fwd the B1G media deal includes a OTA network broadcast window at 12, 3:30, and 7 every week. All of them are big time windows.
What a stupid thing to say. We are a "real" Big Ten team! It's a shame we have fans that aren't "real" Big Ten fans and feel the need to put us down!
I think what @GoodOl'Rutgers meant was traditionally, the B1G only had those games because that's when the B1G played, sans lights. So by default, they became the big ones.
And I agree with @Scarlet16E as the B1G is the one who has to get past this mindset.
Right now, Fox considers noon the prime spot.
And CBS (starting next season) considers 3:30 the prine spot, and NBC ...7.
Fox gets OSU-Mich but the rest are up for grabs.
I can read what was said. What you are saying has nothing to do with implying RU is not a "real" Big Ten team. I feel it was a stupid thing to say and I stand by it. No biggie let it rest.

People are kinda correct. But what I have seen even before becoming Big Ten was that the primetime Big Ten games were teh 3:00pm 3:330pm slots. Then the night games.. in early months.
But come the coldest weather.. the old boy Big Ten teams play the noon games.
Once we were in Big Ten.. we have played Friday Night after Thanksgiving.. Noon on Sunday in the middle of Labor Day weekend...
Here's the Thanksgiving weekend games... I suppose we don't want to go up against OSU-UM in TV ratings anyway. But if the OSU-UM game were held in the early months.. it would be a 3:30 or night game. That's my opinion and I am sticking with it. Maybe it is about earlier sunsets and no lights... the tradition I mean. But since the sun sets its pretty cold in Jersey. I suppose it is a blessing it is not a night game.

I see nothing yet for FS1 for noon that Saturday.. there are 3 ACC games yet to be decided.. probably all ABC/ESPN/ACC network

I suppose FS1 doesn't want to schedule against "The Big Game" on Fox at noon? With all the changes I had to check it.. but yeah, Fox and FoxSports still the same corporate umbrella. BTN is 50% Fox-owned and they operate it.. but Indiana-Purdue is an all-Indiana thing and probably not much of a threat to ratings for Fox showing Michigan-OSU
I was talking more along the lines of who was playing who and not what channel their on.
This schedule works. The only one that isn’t a natural fit is the State Penn - Sparty match up. All the others just seem to go together on more than a few levels.
Don't lie. You know you'll be dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. Maybe you'll wear socks and sneakers instead of sandals. Maybe.
Penn State - Sparty is something they tried when PSU joined. The natural one would be PSU-OSU... but OSU already has UM. Hmmm.. UM-MSU and OSU-PSU.. if not for this idea that the Big Ten always boils down to the winner of OSU-UM.. something both those schools benefit from.. that new rivalry matchup would be about right.
Didn't they try to pair us with MSU early on? (answer.. nope.. our last conf game each year..

Which goes back to what I was saying earlier. All those match ups for the last week of the season fit with the possible exception of one.
