Great season from my Devils. Exceeded my expectations by far. Unfortunately we are pretty banged up heading into this one, but got faith we can get the job done.


don’t know the slightest thing about SWG… someone fill me in? Fans travel well?

I don't know there'll be much to see here. I'd go with Mooresville by multiple scores.

SW has a good defense with defensive player of the year runner up (1 vote). Sickness took a toll on them last night and they were down about 15 or so kids. Hopefully healthy.
Although the scores don’t indicate it, they allowed more than 20 points truly 2x this year. Good size up front and speed in the secondary.

Sounds like us. We had 600 kids out of school last week with the flu from what I heard.

How are they against the run. We have one of the states top RBs… so he Will obviously be a focal point to the offense.

Very good against the run. Was giving up 50 yards rushing until grimsley and then it was around 70. I’d guess less than 100 at this point or not much over.

Should be an interesting game then. We are tooled the same way. We’ve only had 1 100 rusher against us all year. Our front 7 I would put up against anyone in the state. Can be suspect in the secondary.

our RB1 has around 1300/1400 yards on the year, RB2 around 800. But our RB2 got hurt last night, so idk what his availability is like. We return almost our entire defense next year. The complete opposite on offense lol.

we called up a bunch of JV guys that will be big time for us the next 2 years, curious to see how much run they get these playoffs

Yeah SW will only lose 4 kids from D and 4 from O next year. So pretty young! Still sounds like a solid ground and pound team!

Can they be had over the top? If they don’t have a big pass rush, we do have a QB and WRs that can get open down field and make plays

The DBs are good. 6’3, 6’1, 6’0 and can move. Late season changes paid off. Can SW consistently stop the run like early to mid season is the question.

I like across from SW. I got Mooresville by double digits. SW is very similar/comparable to Kannapolis talent and size wise. Mooresville should be able to dictate the line of scrimmage.

Again key word. "Should"

SW Guilford is a physical club with athletes all over. The Cowboys' district has always had athletic kids roaming the halls over there. If they can play a complete game, it will be close. The defense is good enough to surprise.

Our History vs Triad Metro isn't good We are 1-10 and that only win is vs Page a few years back. Ragsdale n Grimsley are 2 previously that has beaten up in the playoffs

Mooresville has clean up penalties we had far too many and also we have 2 Turnovers vs LN. Mooresville is slightly banged up but Majority is Good imo. I am sure there others in same boat this time of year so it's all about grit n all

SWG is Balanced and They use 2 QB and They have 2 solid backs and they do got some big boys especially the 2 Nose Guards they have at 330+ pounds at 6'3 or so

I think this will be a tougher 1st round game then expected: Mooresville 28 SWG 14

Yeah, that was one of the worst years we've seen at Page in a while. Our last coach ran it into the ground and we limped into the playoffs with a 3-7 record.. somehow only lost to Mooresville 27-15, that was just before Covid happened in 2019. I'm not sure how we even made it into the playoffs that year.

SWG may have depth issues bc its look like they have roughly 35-40ish players so I'm sure some goes both ways

Don’t get me started about that Ragsdale game… we should have wiped the floor with them and got absolutely smacked. That game still makes me mad today lol

that was the 2000 3A western regional finals in Mooresville. Ragsdale went on to lose to Bertie Co. in the title game. 2 years later, Mooresville went up to unbeaten Ragsdale in the second round and ended their season (27-21). they had a much heralded RB by the name of Toney Baker and the same QB (Wes Pope) who beat them two years earlier. Mooresville went on to lose at South Point (12-10) the following week.

I’m referring to the game at Ragsdale a couple years ago after we beat Page in rd 1.

South Pointe game still haunts me. My older brother was on that Mooresville team. Mooresville was at least 3 tds better than SP everywhere except the scoreboard

Who could he have possibly lost to? I mean seriously, who means more to their team defensively than him...even when SW is in the gutter his motor is on 1000.

Can’t say right now but the kid also plays the same position.
