If I remember correctly South Iredell surprisingly beat SW Guilford back in 2018. I’m not sure the difference between this year team of SW Guilford vs the one in 2018. I do believe South had a better team in 2018 than now.

Yeah just trying to say if the team of SW Guilford at that time was better or worse or about the same as they have now with different players.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah It looks like in 2018 SW Guilford was nationally ranked 3000th (on the dot, lol) State rank 97th. This year so far they are 4278 nationally and 121 in the state.

I’m watching their NW Guilford game right now… this could be a 10-7 ball game lol. When I say these teams are nearly mirror images of each other (as far as how they play)…. The SWG defense looks like it’s pretty decent. The offense had a hard time getting into gear. QB is a weapon if he gets running in the open field…. Kid is FAST

In that game SW was missing 15 kids and 9 of the kids on the field were coming off the flu or being sick. If you can watch their games against Page and or Northern or Oak Grove.

Didn’t realize SWG only gives up 20 a game, and has given up 10 or less like 5 times

What i didn’t realize was the combined record of SWG losses was 40-10. Lol. Talk about an under seeded team

Of course South Iredell in that time area was coached by Scott Miller. The best head coach SI has ever had.

SWG wasn’t half bad. they started out pretty good and featured some talent at the skill positions. this game had a little bit of everything, long runs, downfield throws, a pair of KO return td’s, a safety, fumbles, interceptions, and special teams miscues. it was tight early on and Mooresville didn’t begin asserting their dominance until late in the second quarter, scoring on a pass play with seconds remaining in the first half to take a 30-19 lead. they held a comfortable margin the rest of the way.

Depth was the ultimate undoing.

Nah because we gave up 2 scores on bone head plays lol
I missed your bonehead plays. But I can name ours. Young guys not knowing or trying to field a KO on the 1 yd line. Not going under center with less than half a yard to go on 4th and your back field has been getting blown up all game. Not protecting the ball when you have bodies on you trying to bring you down. They guys are dogs but you can tell by the way they play, no one has ever actually taught them the details of the game. That goes all the way back to youth football.

23-13 or 30-19 should have been score
Definitely with you on the 13 (taking away the soppy kick coverage we had when 10 housed it and the junk time score).

SWG had zero yards on their first 4 possessions of the second half. Once we settled down into the game… it was fairly one sided.

That being said… it was also a very weirdly officiated game. Lol. It was hard to really tell what any calls were gonna be.

Mooresville is a solid and experienced team. You can see throughout the year they stay together and are confident.
