4A Porter Ridge @ 2A Monroe 9/23

I think this is Monroe's first true test of the year. Porter Ridge is 2-2 with losses to a tough Hickory Ridge team that just knocked off undefeated Kannapolis and a hard fought lost to defending 4A champion Cardinal Gibbons last night. Porter Ridge only trailed Gibbons 10-7 going into the 4th so they definitely have talent to even do that. Forest Hills has a bye next week so I thought about going to this game. Any thoughts out there on this matchup?4

After finally seeing highlights of Monroe from Friday night they definitely have tons of talent especially speed as usual.

If you go by Simmons Ratings who's pretty accurate in his picks Porter Ridge would be ranked 4th in 2A just above Reidsville who's definitely not "average." If a team can hang with the defending 4A state champion going into the 4th quarter like Porter Ridge did Friday they are not "average."

According to UCpreps which covers football here in Union County it starts at 7:00. Most of the schools here have a bye week so it should be the game of the week on WIXE 1190 also.
