20-20 starting fourth.

Rise 2d n 10 on CC 20.
Refs are not calling it straight on the Rose drive at the start of the 4th. Catholic jumped offisdes at least twice and refs didn't flag at all. Guy was in the neutral zone.

Rose gets three plays at or inside the 1 yard line and goes out of the gun every time and tries to run a sweep and gets stopped on down. Terrible play calling. Why not just QB sneak? You only have to get about 6 inches. Wow!!

Game is over. Rose gave this game away with terrible coaching. You guys could have watched this game live by clicking the link from the NCHSAA website. I would have linked it had I known some of you were looking updates. 27-20

Wow!! Does Rose not know how to run a quick snap QB sneak and get 1 yd?? Football really is a game of inches. Two 4th and short stops for Catholic. SMH

It was maybe 3 inches. Some of you young boys just look down. Yea thats how far I'm talking about. Quick snap qb sneak and have that strong rb drive him into the endzone. Then they basically did the same thing again and gave Charlotte great field position to win the game. unbelievable.

Awful coaching. Shot gun at goaline 4 inches out. Then do it again on the next drive.

Never will understand with inches to go that receiver runs directly to the sidelines....

With that said, Congratulations to Catholic on the title... Great ball game

Congratulations to Charlotte Catholic. Man what a defense you guys have. The most discipline program in the state with some real studs. Offensive line was perfect tonight.

Watched the game on Timewarner and it was a good game to watch. Didn't understand Rose's play calling when they were less than a foot from the goal line. congrats to CC!!

Sure the coach was questioned about the play calling inside of the 1 yard line
also. Couldn't believe they didn't try a sneak at least one of the downs.

I have noticed a lot of teams that have went mostly to a shot gun snap do not feel confident to go under center. I would want to see Powell getting the handoff after an under center snap and going airborne on at least one attempt

I thought we'd see that too.
On the 4th and goal when Powell started moving to his right I knew that play was dead because that CC LBs were coming up and the line had broken down for Rose.
That goal line stand was what I believe won the game for Catholic. I looked at one of our coaches after that and you could just tell Catholic was about to pounce.
All in all, Powell is a great athlete though, he did burn CC several times(outside of kickoff), including a passing TD on a 4th goal I believe in the 2nd Q.
I do think his fumbled punt was bigger than some think. Led to a Catholic TD and after that our special teams seemed to settle right in.

The TD pass by Powell was impressive as it showed a lot of patience on his part. A lot of superstars would have rushed that play. He looked first up the middle then to the right and finally to the left. When the DB came up he just putted the ball over him to the open receiver. Nice.
