Rumored price tag for a starting QB in the portal and Raiola is listed as one of the top 5 options.

No offense, but that’s a load of crap. No way that broadass generalization is even remotely true. Don’t be gullible. $5M for the top QB in the portal? Unlikely due to the price, but possible due to how it’s phrased. What you said is ridiculous.

I'm ok with a rich Nebraska guy dropping 5 million on the mich qb, and like 2 million on Caleb hawkins...then other donors can focus more on the lines and lb's.

I mean...you are worth what you can get.
It is really that simple.

There is a reason that firemen are totally "overpaid" when 99% of their job is sitting around, washing trucks, watching TV and sometimes putting water on stuff...They pushed for it and they got it so they are worth it. They were smart about it.

He should not get $5 million but don't underestimate the wild west mentality of college football. All it will take is the right two teams to want him. Hell Iowa spent $2.5 million on the guy from South Dakota State.
How do you know what the herkys paid?

I don’t think this portal group will be as lucrative as most of the pay will be tied to revenue sharing. The clearinghouse is going to impact the numbers players were seeing last year IMO.

JMO but maybe Leavitt could command that much. I've read Sorsby might be offered $4 millon by TT. DR is coming off an injury and is already not mobile. I'd tell him that we need the money for OL to protect him.

they sleep 3 days at the firehouse then have 4 days to do their real job, then they had the nerve to panhandle with fireboots

I doubt these are real numbers and definitely Raiola isn't going to get it

This is so true!

They somehow have TWO full time jobs.

And they DEMAND hero worship.

Ever see them in the firetruck, parking right up front at the store while they all go in to get groceries? Unreal

How did this turn into a beef with firemen? Ever watch flames shoot out of your roof? You'll think they're worth every penny when its your home.
Sure, but that is the same for every job, isn't? When you NEED them, they are worth the cost.

Assuming no one is hurt in your home fire......you have insurance.

So? I don't get it. Are you suggesting that if you have insurance, that the firemen who showed up to save your home are somehow less valuable? Because of, insurance?

You ask every American who they think more highly of, firemen or teachers, the only people who will answer teachers, are one. Firemen rule. Who GAF if they aren't needed eveey minute of every day they live at their job? That's actually a great thing.

I am not suggesting that, I am flat out saying that.

And of course everyone thinks more highly of firemen! That is my point! They have done an amazing job marketing themselves as heroes and most of us have fallen for it! Yourself included.

You even admitted that they don't do much, if anything, during their shift and you STILL worship them. What they have created is amazing and they deserve all the credit in the world for doing that.

Teachers, cops, postmen, DMV workers, the other "civil servants" have done a horrible job at it.

I didn't "fall" for anything. They are hero's. They don't have to market anything..when they run into a burning building to save people, that kind of speaks for itself...and I hope they never have to lift another finger, I hope all they have to do is wash trucks, because that means **** ain't burning to the ground.

I have been a part of taking youth groups to visit fire stations. I’ve heard firemen talk to these kids on several occasions over the years. My main observation is this. If you are thinking about going up to a fireman to tell them how much you appreciate them and how great they are, just realize that it isn’t necessary. They already know.

It is like the old joke about fighter pilots

"If you are in a bad how can you spot the fighter pilot...easy...they are the ones talking about being a fighter pilot"

Same with firemen, what they have done to market their job and how hard it it is and how they are heroes is remarkable and needs to be studied.

This is when you know they have done an amazing job. I am complementing them, I am calling them brilliant. But that is STILL not enough, people still demand more worship.

Could you be a fireman? People like you don’t understand the concept. They are there for the emergencies. You want them to have nothing to do. When they have nothing to do life is good, but when they swing into action bad things are happening and they are ready and willing to go into the fire or trying to pry someone out of their car or perform cpr til doctors can take over. Check out what insurance costs with no firemen available. When you have value you drive the market.

It was one of the very first things you brought up!

1. How they are all heroes
2. How they are always running into burning buildings.
**** those Army soldiers and Marines. They spend 4 years training, never see a single battle. What a bunch of non heros. Signing up to protect this country when it isn't needed 99% of the time.

I'll be hypocrite 1A for you. I am a teacher, and I'm proud of the impact that I've had on the lives of young children. I also wonder why it seems that firefighters have it easy 95 % of the time.

I also know that if everything was on the line, I could not do what they must do to execute their profession. As a result, I appreciate those folks

Go with Lateef and spend the money on the best O line and D line we can get. We will be a much better team.
Come on. Lateef brings a great skill set that Mr. 3.5M didn't have, but he's also got hammy issues. And he's built rather lean.

Grandpa graduated. We have no clue how good Davila is or if he's even staying.

So basically, we have TJ and maybe a young QB who has zero experience.

If we don't bring in a proven QB who can pass and is mobile to compete with TJ, we're screwed. Anyone who thinks we can go
with TJ all season without any possible injuries or set backs isn't thinking clearly. Even 3.5M boy at 6' 3" 220# got hurt.

My choice would be USF's Byrum Brown. He could step on campus and instantly be the best QB. Sadly, I haven't heard
anyone report that our coaches are interested in him.

Bottom line: we need a strong, proven QB to come in, compete and give us instant depth.

Yes, I could be one.

Dude, I am applauding them! The marketing they have done and their union is amazing.
