Is a target shooters golf course. Lots of water. The wind is always blowing. Hit your spots, and you'll be OK, but there is no forgiveness for jacking it all over the place. I have never seen it in bad shape.

Has anyone every played at Riverburch in Amory? The company I work for is hosting an event there later this month and I have never played there. Just curious to know any opinions on that. Don't know much of anything about it.

your typical down and back course with all the fairways running side by side like you see in most small Mississippi towns Country Clubs. It's not a very difficult course at all. The fairways are wide open. Seems like I recall a little bit of OB, mostly on the left side of the fairways...but you have to really yank it to get in trouble. Water comes into play on a few holes. I last played this course in 2000, so I cannot attest to its condition. It was in good shape then though.

very well maintained...only a minimal amount of giant clover patches on each green. Very knowledgeable staff. It is a little pricey though as I think it's about $12 per round.... btw, one round = 9 holes.

Every year we have this thread and every year y'all always put Dancing Rabbit up there....have yall ever played the course???

It's not even in the top 10. Sure it looks pretty when you're standing on the tee but they don't have the money to maintain it. The azalea's has the better layou,t but they still haven't figured out that you can't have bentgrass greens in MS. They are horrible. They leave 3 inch deep footprints in the summer and roll about a 4 on the stimp. That place is a joke. I will say that it's a good value, to go there and pay the $50 is not bad but it shouldn't be in the discussion for top overall courses

Top 5 without question
1) Old Waverly
2) Fallen Oak
3) Annandale
4) Reunion
5) CCJ or Hattiesburg CC

I've played them both a couple times each in the past two weeks and Reunion has Annandale beat like a drum.

They called it finished when we had 2 holes left to play. I'm not sure who won it. We were -14 through 16 holes. I think -18 or -19 would have won it.

(hooked by my wife's father). He plays on his high school team and plays at Riverbirch a lot. It's in decent shape now. It had been allowed to deteriote a bit but a new super was hired a little over a year ago. He is doing a really great job. He is slowly working it back into top shape. There are still a few rough places here and there but its coming along nicely. It's certainly one of the nicer small town courses around. The clubhouse is a different story.

These are the current greens at Lefleour's Bluff in Jackson off of Lakeland Dr. They are horrible. Also my cart went dead, it was hot and none of the water coolers had water in them, one hole didn't have a flag, the staff was rude. This place could be a decent golf course if it was kept up. Has some nice views of Jackson's skyline.

They are trying to save money on staff and maintenance, and in the process the course has gone to crap...
I doubt it ever is worth playing again. It takes money to keep a course up..
