#7 Clinton vs #26 Wilson Beddingfield RD1

Brackets are final and the match ups are set. Clinton 9-1(6-0) will host Beddingfield 5-5(3-2). This will be the 3rd meeting between the two teams since 2015 all in the playoffs. Clinton won the two previous meetings both 2nd round games in 2015 2AA playoffs(43-27) and 2019 2A playoffs(38-22). Just looking at a quick snap shot of the Beddingfield team looks like they love to keep it on the ground several players with atleast 300 yards rushing bellcow looks to be senior Malik Woodard #5 who has 760 yards 10 TDs. From what I remember about previous Beddingfield teams is they will have some athleticism and be well coached and gotta like that UCLA style uniforms/colors. We do share one common opponent that’s Goldsboro who they beat 36-0.

Fir Clinton had a week off to rest recoup and re focus the start of the 3rd season. Come out ready to play defend home field and most importantly take it one game at a time not looking down the road at potential opponents. Survive and Advance,Win or go home whatever you wanna call it just be 1-0 this week.

Clinton hit the Jackpot on the brackets.
Cake walk to the 3rd rd. Then 3rd should be ok as well because JK and ED will beat each other up before Clinton

Easy ride to the 4th rd

Conference champion and 9-1 = a 7th seed? ; this makes no sense to me. Seedlings, RPI B/S, when all is said and done it’s a matter of opinion and association politics.
That being said the DarkHorses will play them as set and will make a deep run in the playoffs but I don’t want to hear the b/s about seedlings, polls, etc. there’s not anything reliable I’d just as soon draw out if the hat, have predetermined home and away, that way there are no favorites .

I’m confused at how people are saying it’s an easy path…..werent people talking South Granville up pretty big a few weeks ago and of course a potential 3rd round matchup with East Duplin or JK. I’m missing where this is easy

This is for Project Q not the other Clinton guys. Funny thing about your post is you are hoping ED and JK beat each other up before you have to play one of them. That's funny as hell to me. I would want everyone at full strength so there is no excuses. But a guarantee you it's not going to be a EASY RIDE to the 4th round either way.

Man get out of here y'all definitely got some dogs at the bottom of the bracket but my eagles if we can get past Wallace and I really think this is the year we going to Princeton and take them down too

Can’t speak for every Clinton fan out there but I’ll say this:

Clinton will not be overlooking anyone. It starts with Beddingfield Friday. If we earn a Win, we will move on. IF we earn a trip to round 2, 3 and so forth, we will expect the very best from whoever we play. I know how formidable each team is in the east in their own way. We’re guaranteed nothing.

Best of luck to everyone’s team, if we are lucky enough to play you and yours in the playoffs it’ll be fun I’m sure. There truly is nothing like HS playoff Football.

Im pulling for the Eagles , I like the confidence of there fans ,and why not be confident .
I was looking on ,Massy Rating and Northeastern if you don't count 2020 spring season, if the Eagles can win 2 more games it would be 12 strait seasons with at least 10 wins. If 2020 spring season had played a full schedule no dought as of now the Eagles would have a 12 year streak of 10 or more wins ,they only played 9 games and made it to Eastern finals and lost to one of the best teams Reidsville has ever had.
Does anybody know if another 2a team that has been as consistent.
I believe Northeastern will get a title sooner or later but it will happen.

Checked out Beddingfields game vs Princeton. Yeah #5 is the guy as far as offensive production goes. Not a huge kid but has some good speed breakaway speed especially once he gets in the clear. Passing game pretty much non existent they will spread you out Trips,bunch etc but it’s mainly to run the first two pass plays they ran vs Princeton resulted in interceptions other then that basically expect alot of runs with #5. Seen a lot of QB sweep and power plays aswell. May run some Pro sets also.

Off subject but #74 for Princeton that’s a big boy geez

Beddingfield opening possession they drive 70 yards with some nice runs by #5 Woodard he caps it off with TD run. PAT blocked. Beddingfield 6 Clinton 0 in 1st Q

Too early to raise the upset alarm but definitely raising some eyebrows so far in this one……….defense and special teams which is usually strong has been bad so far in the first half and it’s the offense that is carrying us

Final Clinton 39 Beddingfield 18

pros for Clinton defense didn’t allow a score in the 2nd half after a poor showing in 1st. Offense was effective Josiah McLaurin had a monster game 5 TDs I would guess well over 100 yards rushing and had a Punt return TD taken off the board and another rushing TD taken for penalties. Chalk the first half up to maybe rust from coming off an open week but no excuse gotta play better defensively in the first half a lot of missed tackles and just not physical enough from what I saw. But a lot better in the 2nd half. Like post above mention survive and advance. South Granville coming to town next week
