Here is a game of interest as 5-1 AC Reynolds take on 4-1 Asheville. Both teams undefeated in conference. Game has been moved to Thursday at 7. Should be an exciting one to watch. Any thoughts.

Asheville's bye a couple of weeks ago came at a good time. Changes were made which should increase their chances.... hopefully.
I feel it will be a defensive battle once again. ACR is basically healthy except for some minor aches and pains that’s typical this time of year. Both teams have new QB’s starting their first ACR/Asheville game which can be nerve racking, turnovers may decide this one. Should be fun, hope everyone stays healthy. One last thing, let’s not forget TCR has improved greatly and shouldn’t be dismissed as a conference challenger this year. Winning this game is vital, but it doesn’t guarantee a conference championship like it has in the past.
Also, which team/coach can make the right in game adjustments. Everyone has a plan till they get hit in the mouth.
I agree RR. This could be a low scoring defensive showdown. Turnovers and special teams play could be the difference maker in this game. 24-17 Rockets is my prediction.
You had me until the TCR comment. If TCR had josh Allen this year at QB, they would be 6-5

I heard Soph RB #5 for Reynolds was offered by App St. They have D-1 talent on both Offense and especially Defense.....challenge accepted

Not at all, we definitely have some dawgs. But I think Reynolds body of work so far this year has been more impressive with a big reason why being their talent level
Ahhh, I get ya now, makes sense. However Asheville and TCR both have higher RPI’s than we do!?!
I just don't think Asheville has the offense to score enough to win this game unless Reynolds turns the ball over.
Yeah, 1-4 West Forsyth and 3-3 Shelby aren't helping right now..it will adjust as the season continues
It was a great game by both our offense and defense. I’m sure Max Guest had 200+ yards and our defense gave up 1 first down and that was with 8 minutes left in the game. Our special teams cost us a much deserved shutout.
Not that it’ll matter for us this year, but it still pisses me off that you can have a great team in the 4A playoffs like an Asheville or a Reynolds or any of us up here in the mountains and end up in the first or second round playing a school with 75 kids on their roster and 3,000 students to your 34 and 1,200.
Yep. That's been McDowells world since the 80s. Even when we had decent teams we didn't stand a chance in the playoffs. Reynolds can win a game or 2 in the playoffs this year but it will be very difficult beyond that.
It’s seriously the equivalent of swain county being a great program and having a team be 10-1 and then having to play in the 3A playoffs. That’s essentially what happened when we played mallard creek last year in the playoffs and they had double the amount of students and football players we had. Asheville high and Reynolds could combine high schools and you still wouldn’t have the enrollment that Ardrey kell or Hough or Olympic or Myers park have.
I think the Reynolds defense is elite. Even in the game against Rabun Gap they played well even though the score didn't reflect it
That Rabun Gap game was a special teams nightmare! The defense actually held RG to under 200 total yards. They got a couple short field possessions because of our SP, but overall it was a good defensive game. Our run defense is as good as we’ve had in awhile.
