3-0 AC Reynolds will take on 2-1 Ruban Gap-Nacoochee. I don’t know anything about RG-N other than they are 2-1 and a team from Georgia and they beat Charlotte Country Day last week 50-12. AC Reynolds appears to be rolling and playing some good ball. Any thoughts with this game.

Looks like tomorrow just got tougher for ACR, we will be without D1 safety, as well as, “Swiss Army knife” WR/RB/nickel corner/kick returner. However no excuses the show must go on. At least our RB and QB are healthy! 🤷‍♂️

RGN is a charter school. I was able to watch them play Baylor, and they kept it close. Their program has improved over the last 4 years or so, but I still think ACR is the overall better team. RGN is sneaky good though, and they can steal a W if they hang around late in the game.

Not a charter school. They are a Presbyterian boarding school and take full advantage of the boarding aspect to take in transfers from literally all over. Last year they had a German kid who's playing at Michigan now and a British kid that's playing at Vandy now (in addition to local transfers from Tuscola and Andrews that are at Minnesota and Virginia Tech now). It's a few miles outside Franklin just across the GA border, but they play in the NC private school association. I guess it makes sense because they're more similar to Christ School and Asheville School than the nearby GA private schools, plus they can re-class kids in the NCISAA. They hired a coach with an IMG background about three years ago and the number of D1 recruits on the roster has skyrocketed since then. When you consider the number of players they are sending power 5, though, they kind of underperform.

You are correct, they won 21-0 last year however we were starting multiple 9th and 10th graders on varsity last year who would have made a huge impact on that JV game, including our starting QB and TB and two key defenders.

Best team we’ve played by far. Too many special teams mistakes, KO return for TD, blocked punt returned to 10, fumbled punt gave them ball at 20. Didn’t quit, came back to cut it to 6 with 5:30 to go in game just couldn’t get over the hump. Great learning experience now onto conference play next week!

Same thing, you just threw Christianity in there and called it something different. Either way, I told you if they hung around, they'd steal a win.

Charter schools are funded by the government. Rabun Gap is funded by a church and tuition. And the difference matters because a private school like Rabun Gap doesn’t have a 25 mile radius for eligibility like a charter school, and being a boarding school helps them pull in elite talent from all over the world. It also matters because charter schools play in NCHSAA but schools like Rabun Gap play in NCISAA where they can reclassify kids into a lower grade. Charter schools have an unfair advantage, but Rabun Gap’s advantages are a few more levels up from that.

I will give you credit for picking the game right, though. RG going to OT with Sequoyah threw me.

Be interesting following Guest high school career and recruiting. Kid has looked good so far this year.

That’s the single worst tackling I have ever seen in a high school football game.

Having said that, Guest is really good and I hope he transfers to Christ school to play his remaining 6 years of hs football lol
