ADM's are out (for real)!

I have a question for someone that knows how the ADMs are calculated.

So I know that early college is not factored in (lol), but how about "alternative school" (or whatever your school calls the place where students are sent for disciplinary reasons)? I have heard that it is not added into the ADMs.

Some students are at Oaks Academy all four years of high school and never set foot on their home district school's campus. Only the students that were still at their home district school the first 10 days of school would factor into Murphy, Andrews or Hiwassee Dam's enrollment numbers from what I gather.

Someone in the know please clarify, who will receive the 2 seed and why ? Home field advantage in a Murphy Mitchell battle will be huge. Seem Murphy with no conference losses and conference champ would be a lock for the second spot. I’m sorry if it’s already been covered, I’m just hitting the high spots. Thanks in advance.

Is that due to the ranking system the state is using ? Why would they use one sites ranking system instead of averaging several different sites.

The NCHSAA have a partnership with Maxpreps. The other sites (NCPreps, Carolina Preps, etc.) create polls. The argument is that Maxpreps creates an unbiased mathematical algorithm that calculates team rankings based on wins, losses, and strength of schedule. The major problem everyone has with it - no one will divulge HOW Maxpreps gets their rankings. Very frustrating for the schools.

I'm not sure anyone fully knows why the nchsaa does some of the things they do, including seeding. I will not at all be surprised if come Saturday they release the pairings and a new set of adjusted rankings with lots of changes. I am not going to argue Mitchell over Murphy in the seeding process simply because if we both advance I had rather play at home.

I assume the nchsaa looks at Mitchell has no conference losses in the 1a side of the WHC. Not saying this is correct, just my best guess. Either way for Mitchell to advance to the finals looks as if they will have to win the SMC as well. Rd.2 possibly Cherokee, rd.3 Murphy and rd.4 possibly Rville. Not taking anything away from TJA but this would be an interesting road.

Still have alot of the same teams involved but many seem to think their teams are better than last season. Should make for some highly competitive playoffs.

I agree, its not even debateable imo. Pretty much every top team this year has a better team on paper than they did last year.

Well, you have made more accusations than anyone can count. Why don't you finally come forward with your idea of what's going on so the rest of us can see the light. I am sure that those in Chapel Hill would like to know as well. I would even assume that the Cherokee County school board would be interested so they can recover the missing funds that they lose by hiding the students. So please enlighten us.

I am sure it is something more than the beat to death EC. Which everyone but a couple of folks knows they don't have to count.
