No ...I am running a write in campaign for Treasurer of the No Class Club. The account has $4.17 cents left in it. I figure if the school is closed, no one will notice me closing out the account at First Citizens. Buddy and I are going to take that money and invest in a set of sticks for a good drummer. (You do know Buddy was the drummer in the Beatles "Love Me Do" studio session...right?)
The NCC is a very select and private club.I do think they are currently having a membership drive for new members for next year. To be put up for membership a current NCC member has to nominate you and you have to pay an initiation fee and monthly dues. I found out the easiest way to be up for membership is to let Buddy Rich know that you can drive after dark. I told him I could do that but I would have to drive my wife's car to take more than one member to games but she would not allow smoking in her car. Buddy told me that would be okay. They would hold their head's out the window. By chance Albemarle would not have a football team next year all club funds would be dispersed by Buddy to purchase scotch and cigars for Bluebones and himself.

I spoke with a former Albemarle resident last night. He agreed with me that the thorn is the SSHS and AHS issue of enrollment and their district lines. He also mentioned that the sturctural problems with the two elementary schools, Norwood and East, are a major problem also. Closing AHS allows East students to move to AMS and those students onto AHS. Norwood kids get a worse option as they go to East, Aquadale, and possibly some to Badin. I thought the "open enrollment" doomed AHS.

He also thought Oakboro closing may be a bad logisitical move. Their district lines are surprisingly fairly tight for Oakboro and with the growth in Locust and Stanfield areas it would be expected that the school will be needed in the future.
