And the hits just keep on coming for Lance Armstrong.

Couldn't happen to a better guy

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to defend a guy that does what he did to his family whether or not he has a cool story or not.

The same goes for Ray Lewis. How that guy got off I'll never know, and yet, we have people crying on TV defending his character "on and off the field" Blows my mind!

Well he stepped down from his own organization and then Nike dropped him...to be fair.

Lance Armstrong is a self-centered *******. There's no denying that. But you can't even begin to put him in the same category as Ray Lewis.

When you cheat and get caught it is one thing but when you cheat and deny, deny,

deny, deny and then deny some more and get caught then well you get this. On top of all the denial
you try to make yourself out to be this wonderful magnanimous person so when it all comes down this is
what you get, he deserves it.

No. He "stepped down" from Livestrong. There's a difference. Radio Shack just dumped him too.

Is this sortof like Auburn and the Cam Newton scandal where they denied like crazy and they now have somehow claimed that God loves them more than other teams and Satan took away their wins? If so, please, please, please RELEASE THE TAPES someone. It would be a thing of beauty.

He started the organization and was the head of it. They didn't drop him.

He did not start Nike. They dropped him. What part of this do you not get?

edit to add: I think you read my post wrong. You just said the same thing I said. He stepped down from his own organization (my words) which is Livestrong (your words).

This feels like the goat bannination midget fight thread all of the sudden.

What I meant was that he "stepped down" from Livestrong just like Jackie Sherrill, Larry Templeton and Rick Stansbury all "retired." He stepped down because he was told he was going to be fired.

How does one get fired from his own organization? It used to be the Lance Armstrong Foundation and became Livestrong.

edit to add: I get what you are saying but it is not the same as Jackie, Larry, or Rick by a long stretch. The organization has definitely grown beyond Lance but it is still his to make the decision. Shirley there was some pressure but not like those you mentioned.

You said it yourself. The organization has grown beyond Lance and it wasn't his personal organization any more. He's far from the first person to be fired from "his" organization that he started.

It wasn't necessarily to put them in the same category. I was just referring to how the media has certain darlings that are untouchable no matter what they do. That apparently includes killing someone.

Ray Lewis got off because ALL the evidence suggested that he didn't kill anyone. The knives that were used in the stabbing were confirmed to have been bought by his two friends and the victims were stabbed. What happened is exactly what the evidence suggests. A fight broke out, two guys got stabbed, and Lewis tried to protect his friends (and his career). He subsequently testified against them, and they were acquitted of the crime. Case closed.

I am just going to disagree with you in this instance. Don't have any further...

argument for it.
