It is what it is. Let's see if Anton Gill can do anything for this team next year.
Nebraska will certainly need him to be a consistent outside threat. If he can't then we will see a Husker team easy to defend......again. Nebraska is not better without White, and objectively, I can't blame White for leaving. IMHO his chances of making the NBA are low, no matter where he goes, but they are nil playing out his career at Nebraska.
Call it selfish, but unfortunately I call it smart. At Nebraska, he is the guy who will be the #1 target for teams to shut down if he stayed. Nebraska lacks another proven returning scorer to take the pressure off of him. If he goes to a school with a (gasp) more well rounded team, he has a chance to look better, and work at all the things the NBA scouts told him he needed to work on to have a better shot in the NBA.
Had Miles been able to get some more athletic 4s and 5s to come in for next year maybe he ends up staying. But it didn't happen, and White probably feels he needs to go to a place that has actually won an NCAA tournament game for him to get noticed, and has a chance at winning a few next season. I'm not going to fault a guy for chasing his dream. Nebraska doesn't exactly have a track record to show him he's making a bad decision, and unfortunately Nebraska's offense is about as elaborate as I see at summer AAU tournaments.
