The biggest reason Nebraska basketball has never taken the next step is because of the roster turnover every year. It's been a common theme since Danny Nee. Unless you're getting legit 5 star players every year, you can't keep losing multiple non-seniors and expect to elevate your program.

I like Tim Miles but the roster turnover continues to be ridiculous.

I'm talking the variety of his offensive game, the variety of moves not points. So you think White is a future NBA star eh? What is YOUR prediction "fella"? I say he NEVER starts a single game and will be lucky to be on a team for even one season.

Too think that White is better than Petteway is laughable and Petteway couldn't make it in the NBA.

Lol what? What does the NBA have to do with Whites production in college? He will never play in the NBA are your boy McVeigh won't either. Variety of moves doesn't mean squat if you don't put the ball in the hole. One guy was good at it last year...the other wasn't. White averaged nearly 17PPG...no matter how much BS you want to spew his stats are out there to be seen. And he produced!

Dude I told you 6 months ago and again here but reading is NOT your string suit. You can't compare a true freshmen to a 3 year player. Let's compare freshmen seasons. White averaged what 2.3 pts a game? I stated once McVeigh gets in the weight program and gets MUCH stronger is when he will flourish.

String suite? Want to try again? YOU were the OP who compared the two months ago! And it was as laughable then as it is now

The poison could very well be the head man leading this program...sure isn't looking good for the funny man.
The only poison is the venom you spew for Miles at EVERY opportunity. Losing White sucks but we lost him for his own selfish reasons. I'm not sure exactly what somebody promised him but it must have been good. I was very surprised when he announced that he was coming back and equally surprised that now he's leaving. I'm not sure what Miles could have done to keep him. Personally I thought that it made almost NO sense for him to stay. The kid left KU. Now he's left NU. Is it possible that he wants to go finish his college career closer to home? Is it possible that he thought his touches were going to diminish this year? Yes. He was a reasonably good rebounder, a defensive liability at times, a very good shooter but a shooter that wasn't able to create his own shot. He's also a guy that looked at times like he didn't want to be here. He's replaceable. I've said all year that he isn't an NBA talent. Not even close. Let's just hope that the new guys can make us forget about his 3 pt shooting very quickly.

He's replaceable? Okay..I feel better now knowing that there are just droves of guys still out there in June...that can come in and average double digits for us. So what's the excuse next year when Miles has another losing season?

I quess Eichorst will start earning his pay check then.
huskerbaseball has had it out for Miles for some time now. I dunno if he ran over his dog or what but he's jumped all over Miles at every opportunity. White's leaving was for his own selfish reasons and I don't think there's anything Miles could have done to stop it. I was surprised when he announced he was staying earlier. Let's see. You've got a guy that left KU and now has left NU. He sees a newcomer that's going to take shot attempts away from him. He sees schools in lots of fun places maybe closer to home and has likely been getting courted by several $chools closer to home. What's a 20 something to do?

Phew! Well there it is...after another losing season we can all just say "man, well...what else is Miles to do???" Glad it's already started. Sorry Dingle...I'm just not as delusional as you! Miles will have the jokes his year...and you will have the spin machine in full motion...after each, and every loss.

He has already done more than Osborne could ever do
Well now Tom did get us a giant stadium addition that will be virtually impossible to keep filled..........gosh I hope it's paid for. When the sellout streak adds I guess Tom can say, see I told you so. We should have kept Bo...

You're so predictable. IMO, I see progress and IF you want Miles gone you better tell us all who you're gonna replace him with. Who you gonna get that's gonna go beat MSU on the road? White is leaving and YOU have NO idea why but immediately you ASSume that it's MIles's fault.

Of course you see progress...you are blind. Progress to you is making the NIT two years down the road. We beat MSU on the road this year...and still only won six Big Ten games. Your point? We also lost to Samford at home btw. But hey...you knew that. I don't care WHY White left...Miles is manning this ship and in June we have 10 eligible scholarship players! 3 of which are true freshman...and this is a program coming off two losing season. And staring at another losing season...but hey, he's funny! So...extend his contract! Certainly he's not responsible for the continued player and staff turnover. Why would he would? Certainly isn't responsible for the product on the floor.

I've watched the "product on the floor" for roughly 40 years and Miles has put the best "product on the floor" I've seen since Nee's tenure. But you don't like it so fire his ***. Who you got then? I'm just for a little more patience that's all. I see hope in the recruiting this past year.

So that's our expectation now? Just to be better than Collier/Sadler? Eeeek...I hope Eichorst has a different point of view. You see progress in recruiting yet here we are in June...two scholarships short of a full team with a coach who has never...ever been able to utilize all of his scholarships at NU. I like the 3 coming in...but I hate to tell ya, other Big Ten programs have some mighty good recruits coming in as well. With this improved recruiting...we can all expect to make the postseason this year right?

I hope to live long enough to either see all the records on the JFK assassination released from the National Archives, or Nebraska to have a relevant basketball team. Preferably I will live to see both.
Nebraska played some pretty damned good basketball at times this year. That's what gives me hope. I watched a sh## show EVERY stinking game when Sadler and Collier coached this team. The thing that has killed us for two years now is our inconsistency.

Actually my expectation is that we do make the post season. White leaving makes that tougher maybe especially when we'll be playing a bunch of sophomores and a transfer.
And why exactly are we 2 scholarship players short? Exactly who should we have taken anticipating White leaving? I mean WTF man give it a rest.

Why are we two scholarship players short? Good question...you would have to ask the guy who has NEVER ever utilized all 13 scholarships. But hey, not his fault....right? I mean he's only had 4 years to do so. Just like it won't be his fault when we finish near the bottom of the Big Ten this year.

A lot of closet Miles haters so excited about this news. Nebraska is a much better team under miles and showing a huge spike in talent than ive seen since Nee.

So now when Miles turns the corner and puts a consistent winner on the floor, you'll start to support him? If you hate him so much I say you're not allowed to support him when he starts landing in the NCAA tournament consistently.

Damn fair weather fans are great.

And when if he fails....???? Sorry, nothing against Miles as a person...but the results the last two years leave a lot to be desired. It's about wins and losses. There is nothing outside the typical delusional Nebrasketball fan that says we are close to landing in the NCAA tournament consistently. Hell, it's going to be difficult to have a winning record next year. I'll be happy as hell if what you say is true, I just am not seeing how you are coming up with Miles being the man to make us a consistent Tourny team.

It is what it is. Let's see if Anton Gill can do anything for this team next year.

Nebraska will certainly need him to be a consistent outside threat. If he can't then we will see a Husker team easy to defend......again. Nebraska is not better without White, and objectively, I can't blame White for leaving. IMHO his chances of making the NBA are low, no matter where he goes, but they are nil playing out his career at Nebraska.

Call it selfish, but unfortunately I call it smart. At Nebraska, he is the guy who will be the #1 target for teams to shut down if he stayed. Nebraska lacks another proven returning scorer to take the pressure off of him. If he goes to a school with a (gasp) more well rounded team, he has a chance to look better, and work at all the things the NBA scouts told him he needed to work on to have a better shot in the NBA.

Had Miles been able to get some more athletic 4s and 5s to come in for next year maybe he ends up staying. But it didn't happen, and White probably feels he needs to go to a place that has actually won an NCAA tournament game for him to get noticed, and has a chance at winning a few next season. I'm not going to fault a guy for chasing his dream. Nebraska doesn't exactly have a track record to show him he's making a bad decision, and unfortunately Nebraska's offense is about as elaborate as I see at summer AAU tournaments.

LMFAO. Wasn't aware that a good repertoire of "moves" would win you more games than the ability to score. And who cares whether he is or isn't a future NBA star? Not every good college player projects to the next level.

Yes Miles has recruited better than the last 2 guys, but he also has facilities that are 1000x better than what the last guys had to work with, and has received much more fan support.

Bottom line, he has had 3 losing seasons in 4 years and has a worse record than Sadler did after his first 4 years. I don't want to fire him but I was at least expecting winning teams and a more exciting brand of basketball by years 4-5. Except for one hot month in 2014, Miles has not put a good product on the floor here. If we have another losing season, the seat should start getting warm.

I'm still behind Miles but it's time to get his **** together. I know we don't have that "tradition" factor, but playing in the Big 10 with amazing facilities & support should be enough to get this thing rolling! All this coaching turnover, terrible offensive game performance and failure to land a decent big may be an indication he might not be the right guy. How many years is this crap gonna continue? I hope he gets it together, but I'm starting to wonder.
