Starmount will need a good line and be able to pass.

I take Starmount in a two TD win. Starmount has found its stride and have built confidence.
Andrews by 2 touchdowns. They are finally healthy and their best back hardy played last night. He will be plenty rested. Oh and by the way, Kevin from swain, Andrews runs it better than swain the last couple years.
How did Starmount only beat Alleghany by 2 scores? Murphy could've scored 100 last night if they had wanted to. Seems like Starmount is playing good ball right now but unless I'm missing something that's a serious red flag because Alleghany, no offense to them, is not an opponent any good team shouldn't have the backups in and a running clock for the whole 2nd half.

Its teenagers...every now and then one team plays inspired ball, while the other one plays down to the level of their competition that night. They would beat Alleghany by 40 if they played again...they are 2nd in the NW 1a but are still light years behind Mt.Airy this year.
I hear ya, everybody has an off night, but truthfully Alleghany is the weakest team Murphy played all season and it's not particularly close, Hayesville would've handled the team I saw.
I have no real insight here but I would say Starmount might struggle a little to stop Andrews ground and pound and outside of Mount Airy that Andrews will have the best run defense Starmount has seen all season. Andrews is a little light on the d-line but they have a VERY good group of linebackers. I think it has the makings of a good game but if the Andrews team that played Murphy shows up I'll roll with them in this one.

Tville...you're right...i saw Salisbury play down to yall's level earlier this year bro..but still won big...thats not a knock on Tville..but Salisbury looked sloppy against you guys...Starmount had that big of a talent gap against Alleghany as Salisbury had against yall that night...but you have to handle business when you're that much better than your opponent.
Starmount has never played well at Sparta. They also put in several reserves in the fourth quarter that gave up 2 scores.

It sounds like two teams whose forte, first and foremost, is defense. Both appear have strong run games but maybe they nullify each other a bit. I could definitely see this being a low scoring game given how many Andrews games have gone. First team to 14 probably wins it.

Allegheny had to cancel their jv season and bring everyone up because of injuries to varsity. You played mostly jv last night
It’s gonna be tough for them to stop the 1 2 punch of Andrews backfield.

This one will be one of the better games this week. Starmount seems to have found a rhythm, and Andrews looks to back 100%. The Martin kid for Andrews is a handful. Kinda wish I could watch this one...

Well one thing I will say is Andrews isn't nearly as explosive offensively as Murphy, they're not really built to put up big offensive numbers. Andrews might've beat Alleghany as badly as Murphy but the scoreboard probably wouldnt have reflected it in the same way, if that makes sense. Andrews is very rarely going to drop 40 or 50 on teams with the type of offense they play. All that is a long winded way of saying that its possible Andrews beats someone "handily" without a huge spread on the scoreboard. If Andrews beats Starmount by 20 it would probably mean the game was never in question.

Yeah. I talked to someone from Andrews last night that said the Bishop McGuinness game could have been 60-0. The Martin kid didn’t play in the second half on offense. May have played defense not sure about that. 34-7 Score from Andrews is like a 55-7 score from Robbinsville or Murphy.
Played a good SWR team in the road as well.
That long road trip can take a toll
STM will throw on you also. Well coached! Kids play hard with a chip. Starmount has Tradition that does mean something
Think this might be the best matchup of the 2nd round. It’s gonna be a heck of a ride for Andrews, but any team that can knock off Mitchell can play in my book. Starmount seems to be Hot right now and has found some offense. I think Andrew’s overcomes the road trip and takes a tight one.

Shout out to Andrews. Its been a while since they have won a NCHSAA playoff game if I remember. This is a special team for them and wish them all the best! (with no offense intended to Starmount fans of course!)
2013 & 2015 made it to 2nd round. I don’t like stating this but people don’t know how big of a deal it is to field a winning team with only 200 students. Out of that probably only 90 males and a usual team has 24 players. Not making excuses and never have. It is what it is. How many true athletes do you think anyone could field with 24 players. The town of Andrews are proud of this team
