He's got the size and a cannon for an arm. Makes good decisions for the most part. I'm no Mack Brown but he'd be crazy not to at least give him a look.

Great move by Landon's family. Not throwing North Stokes under the bus but if he hadn't have moved to East Surry he probably wouldn't be getting the attention that he is. He's a great young man and one heck of a receiver. Well deserved in my opinion.

you are 100% correct. His family made a smart decision for him.

Not recruiting pal. Went through the process on their own. Thanks for your expert opinion tho.

Tarvikes why did you remove your post about we gotta love recruiting?

Fyi 4 kids left North Stokes at the same time. 3 tried to transfer to Mt Airy but the Stokes county school board denied it. They went to West Stokes instead. Landon came to East Surry. On their own.

Awesome for Stevens, he's a a really good player who you don't hear about much because of the talent around him.

What 3 kids went to West from North? I know Stanley the LB did.

Also, I think UNC definitely needs to let Boaz get an opportunity at QB. He has the size and arm.

Man, that’s a lot of talent. Seems this has to be the year the cards win it all. If they don’t win it all this year, may not have another shot for a while.

Agreed they can contend for the west next year. However if they are ever going to beat Tarboro this is the year. They won’t have another shot for a while.

East may have to play Tarboro earlier than they thought. A lot of talk East may end up going East in the playoffs.

UNC has their QB for at least the next two years barring injury. Sam Howell is pretty dang good. This kid better be special to replace him. We do need help at TE though.

Edenton is very well coached and good team they cannot be overlooked. Tarboro and it’s coaching staff has nothing but the up most respect for Edenton and you better be ready to play that crowd!

1aa:

1. Tarboro
1a. E. Surry

3. Mitchell
3a. Polk

Big drop after E. Surry

Go Mountaineers
I know you have to play the games on the field but Simmons is historically reliable and he has Holmes as a 7 point favorite over Mitchell and a 19 point favorite over Polk. I think we are overlooked because of the results of our last two games against Tarboro but Tarboro put it to the best the west had to offer the last two years also.

simmons has Mitchell bearing Murphy by 14 last year. I wouldn’t go to Vegas with Simmons. What I can say is East and tarboro are far and away better than everyone else. If you look from top to bottom the west has better teams than the East. Holmes wouldn’t finish in the top three of whc

Holmes has one of the best coaches in the state. They are not a pushover by any means.

Holmes beat Northeastern 34-28. NE is playing one of the toughest non conference schedules in the state this season. NE lost to Reidsville by three in the title game last year.

Well. Who would they beat heritage, Mitchell or Polk? Pamilico was supposed to be awesome last year. Tarboro wrh a lot of respect. Everyone else is average at best.

Think North Stanly was the most west team last season in the 1AA East Regional. They and North Rowan are both more eastern than East Surry and both of those teams will make the playoffs. North Rowan had 527 students last season ADM. Think they are lower this year but do not know how much.

Not sure they would beat any of those three teams. Did not write they would beat any of those teams only that they are not a pushover.

Holmes played in the 2A title game the year before they went 1A. They basically lost to Tarboro by the same score that East Surry did. Would not use the Pamlico comparison. Think if there was no Tarboro North Stanly is winning the state title last season.

My bad on Holmes, was in a hurry and totally forgot and over looked them.
At this point I would have them between ES and Mitchell/Polk. If ES somehow ends up in the east it will be interesting.

Thanks. That’s all I was really looking for an acknowledgment that Holmes is at least out there in that 2nd tier mix

How could East Surry be seated in the East?
same way Whiteville which is only 40 miles west of Wilmington was seeded in the 2A West a couple of years ago...and had to travel to Mountain Heritage (Yancey Co.) in the playoffs..............

Yea you did and all props for that but my point is we made it to the championship in 2A just three years ago and the Eastern Finals the last two years and simply had the misfortune of playing three really great teams the last game of the season the last three years. Besides the teams which regularly collect championship hardware how many teams can claim that level of success the last three years??

Good memory. Mitjonta Stanley. Maxpreps has only posted stats for 5 games for him. 50-972, 19.4 yards a carry and 19 TDs. I heard Friday he went 6-149 with 3 TDs. He only gets around 10 carries a game due to our schedule so I don’t expect he will post numbers like he did last year which were 2,945 total yards, 45 TDs and 17.4 yards per carry. Getting looks from App, Elon and Wake.

Again good memory. Right before our 3rd round game against Northeastern he was pressed into duty when one of our senior starting running backs left the team. Then in the eastern finals against South Columbus our star running back Kemion Bailey sprained his ankle in the 1st quarter and had to leave the game and Stanley stepped up in a big way.
