That wasn’t the context that you raised this point in though. That’s all I’m saying. Yeah - you play the games on your schedule, but when your schedule is extremely soft there has to be an expectation of better outcomes. If we were dealt Syracuse’s schedule and only had a 5-6 record with it (including 1-6 in conference with the collection of opponents they faced) our fans would be calling for the coach’s head too (after multiple years of mediocrity) and rightfully so.

Put another way, if RU had to wait until 2015 to move to the BIG, Flood probably would not have survived another season like 2013 (even with us being in bowl contention). Now think of Babers with multiple seasons like that. This is why I say apples and oranges to compare Syracuse to RU 2020-2023 - Baber’s firing very appropriate for what his teams delivered.
Yes, babers deserved to be fired

cuse has some talent, no question

I hope the staff is grading each position and uses the portal, need to make significant headwinds sooner vs later

I also find it funny that the media is giving us credit that how early we are bowl eligible. But the fans are saying we have no good wins after September or we are terrible in November. Both are true.

Yes both are true . We get credit for beating those crappy teams . We also get criticism because we have stunk lately against the better opponents

So we are in the middle. Not sure what people were expecting. Guess if you think we should be top 3rd, you are disappointed. If you think we are bottom 3rd, you are happy. I think we are right where we should be.

From October on we played 3 teams in the top 15, IU, MSU and Wisconsin.

Basically a regular B1GE schedule. Next year it changes.
And Wisconsin was a different team then with their starting QB.

Who cares when their one close loss to a good team was? It was kind of like Flood’s loss to national runner up Michigan state team in 2015. A total fluke. The week before that they were busy pulling out a nail biter against Holy Cross. And they lost the week before that to Northern Illinois. They were terrible in September too, and consistently a bad team all season long.

It also amazes me that we have fans who keep emphasizing that we only having only 2 “good” wins. What does that even mean? Out of the 11 games we’ve played 4 were extremely low probability for us to win. This is validated by the fact that these teams have one collective loss to anyone but each other (Minny upset Iowa). That’s insane. We played 2 cupcakes in Temple and Wagner. How about instead of bashing the resume, how about acknowledging that 4-1 against all the other real teams on the schedule that we had a realistic chance to beat us pretty damn good.
