It's the 11th-- isn't there a deadline for entering the portal without a hardship? One would think a decision has been made.

I heard he picked up a bacon, egg, & cheese on a hard roll (no seeds) on his way to PT this am. Can't get a confirmation as to whether he put salt & pepper on it, but it is believed he asked for hot sauce. He allegedly also took 3 napkins from the dispenser.

Where is he with his academic credits? I thought grad transfers are exempt from the deadline. If he can graduate by summer can’t he decide to transfer at any time?

Would any "news" even be reliable?
It was a done deal allegedly. And then it wasn't.

I'd just wait for any confirmed news from the actual team or player.
As RED stated above, no news is good news. It’s unlikely you’ll get confirmed news from the player or team as Mag is still on the roster and has never publicly stated he was leaving. It’s not a situation like Hyatt or Mulcahy who graduated and walked on senior day. But hopefully we’ll get an update from Richie or RU72 in the next day or two.

Did he eat the said sandwich at the RAC or APC?

Did he say if the hard roll was any good? I haven't had a decent one in about 30 years.

Is there a chance thar Davis has academic issues? I honestly cant believe that we are still in the dark on why he never signed? Kind of ridiculous at this point!

You do realize, it is up to RU to create the press release, not the player. The player verbally committed to the school. It is up to the school to announce the commitment.

Why are we giving Paul Mulcahy a free pass for doing the same thing?? He should have or could have announced weeks ago that he was coming back and has done nothing or said nothing, yet people are complaining about Davis......very strange indeed.

No.
It’s not strange that we are concerned.
We were told he and Ndongo were ready to go as soon as singing period opened in the spring.
That was 29 days ago and we have 6 days left until spring signing period closes.

We were expecting this to happen as soon as possible and almost at the end of the period. Meanwhile the other kid who was “ready to go as soon as he could” already took back his verbal.

On the other hand Paul has until the 31st until withdraw from the draft (same as Cliff). Based on what we’ve seen from
Geo, Ron, Caleb. We don’t expect them
To withdraw until the very last second (for whatever advantage that provides).

Ultimately I still believe we get JaMichael. But wondering / being nervous that it isn’t that official yet is apples and oranges with the Paul/Cliff scenario.

Not even close to the same situation, but carry on with your anti-Paul agenda.

Just my opinion but I never thought a guy 2.5 months into his ACL rehab and scheduled to be ready by December or January (from some reports) would enter the transfer portal.

If this was a Karl Hobbs play to get him to Georgia Tech they would have him in DEC/Jan ? Mag would probably have no guarantee of starting like he does at Rutgers.

None of this is close to correct unless you don't have premium, which is certainly possible.

A) The entire planet of RU fans have been told more than a dozen times that Davis is signing with RU and will be on campus with his teammate for a few days later this spring.....if you don't know who Davis' teammate is, then stop reading.

B) There is NO evidence whatsoever that Paul Mulcahy has any pro basketball aspirations overseas, so there is NO chance he was leaving to play Pro basketball.

C) If there is no chance after this past season for Mulcahy to have any evidence he was pursuing a Pro career, he has 2 other choices....1) Play his 5th season at RU......2) Enter the transfer portal and play his 5th season elsewhere.

D) If there is a rumor in regards to Mag requesting or feeling that he wanted to transfer (for whatever reason), what if there were other sources that are or have been saying the same thing in regards to Mulcahy??

If we are using "logic", it would mean that Mulcahy has more basketball experience, more versatility and more "value" to RU or another program than Mag would at this present time. Soooo, why wouldn't Mulcahy also feel the same way as Mag perhaps felt, and was considering the portal?? I personally don't think either player has as much value on the open market as individuals, than they do to the value of what they mean to RU in 2023-24, BUT logically, if Mag was rumored to be considering the portal, why would that not apply to Mulcahy??

And Mulcahy is in no different place than Aundre Hyatt, who already announced more than a couple of weeks ago, he was returning for another season at RU. I am not saying Hyatt is a better fit for how RU plays basketball than Mulcahy, but nothing could have stopped Mulcahy from announcing his return (like Hyatt did) a couple of weeks ago.......is any of this actually sinking in yet??

The bottom line is Pike and the staff (from all accounts or expectations) will retain Cliff, Mag, Hyatt and Mulcahy).& there is nothing close to the situation of Ndongo as an international student, who has changed HS multiple times and JaMicheal Davis, who is one of the best friends to RU commit, Ace Bailey. The only similarity with Davis and Ndongo are that they committed to RU, but their situations are drastically different. Common sense would or should tell you that.

Not even close to the same situation, but carry on with your anti-Paul agenda.

Also, to answer your poor response (nothing personal against you), I don't have an anti Mulcahy anything as a RU player

I actually do, based on actual game results and watching RU like you have, that I have an anti Mulcahy as the primary ball handler or primary Point Guard. He is simply, not good enough of a Point Guard on the ball.

Mulcahy is most valuable to winning, when he is off the ball and a spot up wing player. That doesn't mean I want Mulcahy as a wing player over other potential options at the wing BUT, it also doesn't mean Mulcahy doesn't have a role on a winning team.

The clear and obvious item is that RU faltered badly down the stretch of February and missed the NCAAs, primarily because Mulcahy didn't play good basketball as the PG in February. There is clear evidence because it happened AND someone (the RU coaching staff), agreed with that assessment because the 1st and primary moves in the portal, targeted Point Guards.....it is also why Noah Fernandes is here. Whether you believe that is somehow my anti Mulcahy agenda, it is not.

It comes down to what actually helps with what helps RU play the best version of winning basketball as my "agenda ". If Paul simply played more consistent basketball and to his skill set and potential, RU probably made the NCAAs, probably wouldn't have to have targeted Fernandes and things could or should look differently in 2023-24.

To recap, I am a big Mulcahy fan "off the ball, as a spot up shooter", and feel that there are better PG options, who should be on the ball (Simpson, Fernandes and Davis), who can all push the tempo faster in transition AND create their own jump shot, off the dribble......it is a basketball evaluation, nothing personal.

Yes it is true.

Before the signing period opened we asked in the ATE threads if Davis and Ndongo would still sign. I’m talking weeks ahead before spring signing started.
There was nervousness during the skid (during the season when Mag went down). I’m going to go out on a limb and say I’m not the only one who remembers that.

We were told as soon as they could they would sign.

Then they didn’t.

Then the decommit from Ndongo.

^Alll 💯 true.

Yes I have read all the notes on RT that saw don’t worry and he’s still signing, that’s why I said I still believe he would.

My dates and times frames are accurate.

Your notes about Paul are a straw man argument. This doesn’t have anything to do with skill. Again this is about where we are with declarations in relation to deadlines.

Yes we all know that Davis is Aces best friend.

No - Paul is probably waiting because he’s hoping to get a few NBA work outs like Geo did. No other reason. Hyatt wasn’t a candidate for that to be on the radar. To be clear, neither are even borderline NBA candidates right now but Paul is far closer to being able to sniff at the G league. He’s better than Hyatt at pretty much everything except rebounding and he’s not even that far off with that. Might surpass him when his shoulder heals.

The point is, there is no point in announcing Davis and then waiting to announce whomever else may be coming on board. If we add another transfer that has not yet committed or there is something not yet in line with Davis, I personally am not concerned. Until someone else tells me otherwise.

The ultimate fact is there was and is no valid explanation for Mulcahy not committing to stay at RU earlier than he has and still has yet to do. So, logically speaking, he has to have been considering the portal. Whether that information is accurate or not, none of us will ever know. But that information was and has been out there, just so we are on the same page.

Yes there is. I believe Geo got an NBA workout around when the combine was. If you announce your returning you don’t get those. Paul can still get a workout. Jaden Jones got one. It’s a good experience even if your not a real NBA candidate.
