any word on 2017 SMC schedule of games yet?

Didn't keep up much with the league in 2016. Bad year, buried my mom and just didn't want to get out much. Doing better now. Wish Rosman the best in landing a new coach and the Catamount in me will always root for Coach Briggs to bring Cherokee a title. Just curious about the schedules. I did notice the new realignment left the SMC alone. I thought a while back someone had mentioned Rosman leaving and joining H'ville and Polk in the Highlands conference or did I dream that? Oh well.

My condolences for you and your family in regards to your mother....I lost my mother 2 years ago on January 8th of 2015, and it does take a while to get over the loss of your mom....

Polk County is moving down to the 1A class beginning with next season, and they will still be a member of the Western Highlands Conference which will now be evenly split between 1A members Avery, Mitchell and Polk County along with 2A members Madison County, Mountain Heritage and Owen.....Hendersonville which will remain a 2A class team will be part of a new 2A conference beginning next season that will also include Franklin, Smoky Mountain, Pisgah, Brevard and East Henderson.....North and West Henderson along with Tuscola are joining the Mountain Atheletic Conference to form an all inclusive nine team 3A Conference with Enka , Erwin, Asheville, A.C. Reynolds, T.C. Roberson and North Buncombe....

Cherokee and Murphy will return the top 2 QBs in the SMC next season, and both should be as good or better than they were this past season....Swain and Robbinsivlle should be improved, and I hope Rosman will be as well....

Thanks for the condolences. It will be 1 year exactly this upcoming Sunday. God is helping me with it more though than I ever thought and that's a good thing.

I like that new 2-A conference. That will be some exciting ball. As SMC goes, I would really like to see Cherokee really challenge Murphy but I definitely hope Rosman can rebound. Looking forward to getting back up to tiger town on autumn Friday nights.

I would say Hayesville has the 3rd best qb returning.. He will be a junior. Close to 2300 total yards as a sophomore and only played 9 games....Murphy and Cherokee will be good! Swain will be good! The question is how good will Rville be? and who will improve the most out of the bottom three Hayesville, Andrews, Rosman? Look forward to an exciting season in the SMC and WNC.

The QB for Hayesville will compete with McTaggart from Murphy for the best player in the conference his senior year, imo. Right now he's behind Curry and Mintz in the QB discussion (no shame in that) but they're both going to be seniors this year and he's going to be a junior.
