Anybody hear Eulls is visiting OM?

Eulls is the last guy in this class that Ole Miss has any chance of swaying. He's not going anywhere. We just got Robert Johnson, who Ole Miss thought they had until about a week ago, and we will get Carlos Thompson, who Ole Miss still thinks they're going to get. This year won't be good for Ole Miss in the state of Mississippi. We're adding talented JUCO guys to an already very good class, while Ole Miss is getting all their talent through JUCO guys, and some of it is overrated at that (Dorsey a 5-star, for real? Massey won't play QB at OM).

Dorsey is rated a 5-star. Seems a little high to me, too.

My expectations for Carmon are simply to put a big dent in inventory at Templeton/Perry and take up space against the run game.

Wow.....so the players Ole Miss gets are overrated, and the one's State gets are going to be great? Thanks for coming over from Genes. You sound like some of the guys on Yancy's board.

The fact is both are going to get their share of MS players...it has always been this way, and will always be this way. We wanted Johnson, and we want Wells, Thompson, and Eulls. If you get them, you got players we wanted. It has nothing to do with us dropping them, just like you didn't drop the MC guys or the OB guys. From the looks of it, we are going to split the Top 10 or so players in the state. Im not sure why either side seems to be surprised about that.

if Dorsey had committed to us, we wouldn't be seeing the word "overrated" used to describe him.

He could be a secret Tider (after all, they're our real rivals), or perhaps a secret Hawg (they're still pissed at us for losing the 1998 SEC West to us), or perhaps a secret Tiger/Plainsman/WarEagle.......

you're only going to get one, maybe two of the State's top ten. According to Scout:

You'll get Martin. I think Bennett is a top ten, and you'll get him. Who else are you expecting to get? Thompson and Sanders are going to be a dogfight for you, and that's best case scenario. MSU right now is in the position to take the lion's share. Robert Johnson is the one I figured UM had in the bag until recently.

I would like to know who is putting out this ********, because it certainly hasn't been in anything I have read. He has been pro-MSU for about 2 months now, and the coaches at Ole Miss knew it.

Robinson - MSU

Eulls - MSU

Thompson - OM

Dickson - LSU

Martin - OM

Wells - MSU

Johnson - MSU

Rea - MSU

Sanders - OM

Carr - MSU? Don't even know who this guy is.

Bennett and Martin have been OM bound for a while, Johnson has been talking about MSU non-stop for at least two months now, Sanders will drag it out and sign with OM just like Patterson, Thompson will take his visits and is the most even of any of the recruits currently uncommited. The only way Robinson doesn't sign with MSU is if Alabama gives him a firm offer (very doubtful) or if OU gives him a firm offer (don't know the chances of this).

has the best sources. Both parties think they have him. Historically in MSU/OM battles Steve (not Gene) has been right (Elliot, Patterson, Skinner, Atterbury). Steve gets burned on the guys we're not fighting Ole Miss for (Johnny Wadley's brother and quite a few others). Sanders is a toss up from anybody's standpoint. I don't know that State gets Robinson though, LSU will be a factor.

he thinks everyone is going to ole miss.

Rose is wrong just like all these other guys. Its impossible to be 100% or even 75% in this game. But Rose tries to do this with as much objectivity as possible.

because he committed to MSU after his Jr year, so yancy was able to play the "we don't want him" card.

OM was never, ever, going to be in it for this guy, thus he's never been listed as prospect on OM sites. i'm sure there are some OM commits that fit the same bill, but that doesn't mean they're not good just b/c we wouldn't know much about them.

We're adding talented JUCO guys to an already very good class, while Ole Miss is getting all their talent through JUCO guys, and some of it is overrated at that (Dorsey a 5-star, for real? We're getting some of our talent through Jucos, but it's at positions of need. We lose 3 of our 4 DEs. We need a Juco DE. See Dorsey. We lose 3 of our 4 starters in the secondary. We need help there immediately. See Damien Jackson. Both of those guys are December signees, which makes a big difference.

We only have one other Juco commit right now, and that's Randall Mackey, who is being signed as an athlete to play slot, tailback, Wildcat, etc., not QB. He's the only Juco guy we have right now that isn't a December signee, and he's a re-sign from our 2008 class.

We may add Dequan Menzie, a CB, again a position of immediate need. We may sign Brent Moncrief at WR, though they're going to try to get him to walk on from my understanding. We may sign Moseley, a TE, and we may sign a Juco OL, two other spots that have immediate need in the 2 deep.

So in all, I'd guess we end up with 4-6 Juco signees, which leans to a heavier year, but they're pretty much all being signed at positions of immediate need. We lose a lot of seniors and a lot of starters off this team, so we're in one of those years when it pays to add a handful of Jucos. We had only 1 Juco report in 2009, and he redshirted this year, so this year's class is following a class that was heavy on 4 year players.

Alabama backed way off and we are more interested in Shun Coleman (the now more sought after prospect). Robinson went from being a can't miss to a project in three months. I think Robinson ends up at State and I think Coleman sticks with Auburn.

I think Sanders goes to Ole Miss and I think that Thompson ends up at State.

Why would any JUCO tight end sign with Ole Miss? Everyone knows the best tight end of all-time is currently redshirting in Oxford. I guess Mosely wants to be a backup.

you can take that spin elsewhere. Ole Miss is coming after Robinson hard and heavy, both sides are reporting that. Yancy even said he was the biggest standout on the MS OL. All this backed off and **** is not all that accurate, I guarantee we are after Coleman and Robinson, but Coleman has shut MSU off. Damein is a big time prospect, I don't know where all that talk is coming from, if you're going by some random dude watching a game, then Kaleb Euells should be playing for some directional school somewhere. Athletes need coaching. </p>

Robinson's stock has dropped a lot during his senior season. He's still worth using a scholarship on, and Mississippi would sign him if they could, but he's not a top recruit any more.

he isn't even going to play football.

The top 10 most sought after players in Mississippi are as follows:

1) Shun Coleman - Olive Branch
2) Carlos Thompson - Hollandale
3) Kaleb Eulls - Yazoo County
4) Vincent Sanders - Noxubee County
5) Matthew Wells - Lawrence County
6) Robert Johnson - Oak Grove
7) Carlton Martin - Madison Central
8) Byron Bennett - Madison Central
9) Travis Dickson - Ocean Springs
10) Damien Robinson - Olive Branch

I think you guys get Thompson, Eulls, Wells, Johnson, and Robinson. We get Sanders, Martin, and Bennett. Coleman goes to Auburn and Dickson to LSU.

As for Michael Carr, Rivals agrees with Lion O. I think they have him as the 23rd best prospect in state. He isn't highly though of.

How was Steve right about Patterson and Atterberry? Both of them ended up at Ole Miss after Steve said there was no chance they ended up at OM.

He also got burned on McCray, until he 180'd and said McCray would be at OM.

Yancy's idiocy speaks for itself (see: McPhee, Pernell interview made up quotes).

I'm pretty sure Rosebowl said OM was Patterson's leader and State would have a hard time getting him once Pat decommitted after seeing Sly's offense up close and personal during the 3-2 debacle. Now, he did get a little optimistic after Pat was rumored to be on his way to Starkville for a visit in January, but he sure didn't call us his leader from what I can remember.

I just said I have never heard of his name before, and I know of plenty of players in MS that haven't been heavily recruited if at all by OM this year...he just isn't one of them.

Kid could be a star for all we know...could be ******. Guess we'll find out...I just didn't know who he was.

Z Mason is going to be so busy playing every position on the field that he may not have very much time for TE, his natural position. Mason is also planning on making an appearance on the basketball team come January. His first game will be the MSU game. You'll be lucky to keep it within 50.

I can't recall Steve's comments on Atterberry, but I remember when the sheep on Gene's were going nuts because Patterson was going to visit MSU - Steve consistantly stated that he was going to OM.
