Anyone still think we'll be last in the SEC?

It was a dumb prediction then, and it looks dumber every week.<div>

I said "for all you guys know, we could sweep UT and take 2 of 3 from Ole Miss, and all you 17ers will be back on the bandwagon.". Not trying to toot my own horn, but toot toot mother17ers. By the way, where is the guy that was saying "Cohen better host or be on the verge of hosting next year, or he needs to go"? That was after the South Carolina series...and he also said "we just got swept by one of the worst teams in the league". South Carolina is now what, 2nd in the league?

That ******* was trying to tell me I was being too optimistic and had a Cohen love affair, but I was simply saying let the season play out. MSDawgs34 or something like that? If it wasn't you, I apologize, I can't remember.

We could still lose out and not make the Tourney, but I think the "wait til the season plays out" point has been made in the last two weeks.

They look at our lack of hits and use that as a defense for why Cohen and the team can't get it done long term. But look atthe game today where we walked 6 times and got hit 5 times. That's 11 times where our hitters were able to get on base without putting the ball in play. It's hard to get into a hitting rhythm when that kind of stuff happens. Now granted there were some frustrating AB's by Renfroe and Brownlee and that kind of stuff pisses me off, but OM pitchers were all over the place and it can be tough to hit when that happens.

A game like today is not an accurate representation of what will happen going forward. I highly doubt there will be another game this year where we have 5 hit batters. That's just insane. That 1st inningwas one of theweirdest sequence of events I've seen in a baseball game.

If the pitcher is throwing balls, the proper thing is to take the pitch. If our players have discipline to lay off bad pitches (Renfroe and Rea don't yet), then it's a good at bat. Similarly, if they have the werewithal not to cower away but instead let the ball hit them, good.<div>
</div><div>A walk or HBP is as good as a single, so congrats to our batters for reaching base 13 times today.</div>

I've never thought we wouldn't make the tournament now that's it's expanded to 10, although I did say it was a possibility when we were 4-8. The pitching has been incredible the last couple of weeks (and very good all season). As for being on the bandwagon, I still think our offense is so terrible it's going to bite us in the end. We're going to have a tough rebuilding job next year when we lose a LOT off of the pitching staff. But for now, I'm just going to enjoy that we're having a decent season this year. We're going to make a regional and with our pitching, we've got a chance in a long tournamentwhere pitching depth pays off most.
