He has been employed every year since his firing which has reduced the money Rutgers owed him fairly dramatically. We don't owe him a dime in 2023.From an accounting perspective I would assume any coach buyouts would have been expensed (into a reserve account) when known.
Assuming so? Nice to only be paying for 3 HCs between FB, MBB, WBB.
Should the guys who post day and night be arrested for stealing from their employer’s? Most loved the Ash hire he failed while trying as hard as he could. He was also the lowest paid coach in the conference and his OL coach sucked at his job. That guy should have been arrested for theft.
If you ask me, having our players never ever be thirsty again was worth it.They should have made him run the snack bar to earn his keep.
oh yeah, I remember that wellBad hire from the get go. Some of us said it before even hired and were crucified.
No one and I mean absolutely no one, liked that automatic extension that kicked in when Rutgers got a $5k fine, probation and 10 less official visits for one year. It was a stroke of genius by Ash's agent and one Hobbs should have never agreed to.pretty sure the same cats that want to extend Greg with 4yrs left are the same ones that wanted to extend, and defended relentlessly, Ash
Thank God this episode of RU football is over
It's ironic that if a player stinks he gets cut from the team but the coach gets paid 7 figures even if he was rock bottom bad.The mention of his name ugh. From what I hear , was not a nice guy, didn't like NJ and unsure if he worked that hard. Got paid though
When do polls here get 500+ votes? Something's fishy. Ash paid some overseas site to vote for him.Think it ended in February of this year.
Ash was scheduled to make $2.3 million during this current contract year, which ends on Feb. 28, 2020, plus a combined $7.5 million in the three years remaining on his contract after this current year. He has scheduled compensation figures of $2.4 million, $2.5 million and $2.6 million in the final three years on the deal.
And oh golly:
What do you think? Is extending Chris Ash’s contract the right move?

If @Knight Shift post #5 above is correct, we are done paying Ash (thankfully). So without Ash on the payroll, our HC payout in 2023 will likely be #13 or #14 in the B1G.The nice thing is that between Ash/Schiano - we are most likely just in the middle anyway lol
