If that's the case, after Angelo's departure, did we ever decide if Smoot was eligible to coach

Isn't he only a few years from pensioned retirement in MS? Thought I heard that once.

Haven't heard this rumor. Coach would you mind expounding upon this further?

I'd say I'll be surprised if Melvin returns for 2013- but if he indeed has 24 years in the system- you could see him back for 1 more season

Considering his pre-signing day buy-out is supposedly pretty big and the fact that he needs about a year left for Mississippi retirement, I doubt he is going anywhere.

I agree and I smell Ole Miss fingerprints here. They badly want to flip Kalio. Melvin is Kalio's recruiter and Ole Miss wants to put doubts in Kalio's head.

Besides being an annual tradition, AU got Rodney Garner

Makes no sense, but we know why this floats up every year.

Rebels throw out bait and pray that someone will bite.

Melvin will be at State next year.

I'll never forget his comments when he came back to State from TAMU - "I would have crawled back to Mississippi"

Melvin loves State, he loves Starkville.

Would Melvin be a bigger thorn at Auburn?

I wonder how good it would really be for OM if Melvin went to Auburn? Auburn would probably have a lot of success in MS if that happened which would mean taking the top players in the state from OM and State.

And I dont believe this round of Melvin rumors is coming from OM. This originated on Auburn sites.

You totally missed the Kalio context. Provably on purpose.
