The guy was at Hawaii, lit the world on fire with offense and parlayed that into a job rebuilding an awful program, SMU, in an average conference, CUSA.
He took a horrible Hawaii team and got them to a bowl game in their first season. He got them ranked at the end of each of the last 2 seasons.
He then took an SMU program that was beyond awful and has them in their 3rd bowl game in a row. They tied for 1st in their conference twice too.
He seems to have a decent record of taking bad programs and turning them around. Will that work at ASU? Who knows.
The last thing i would think to call him is overrated. Being overrated means you are rated highly to begin with. When did June Jones become highly rated? </p>
