I would imagine this doesn't bode well for Kailo coming to MSU. I guess a decent number on here have thought for a while Kailo wasn't going to come to MSU. I was still holding out hope he would, especially with the track benefits added in. With many thinking Conner is going to OM I would assume we can just forget about Kailo coming to MSU unless someone knows something about Conner really being interested in us.

Remember that we have 9 commits at the all star game this week. Maybe they both will go to OM, but this week our commits may have had an impact on him. Remember that Kailo is the talker and Connor is the quiet homebody. Is it really that much of a stretch to think that Kailo may have talked Connor into coming to State? Why would Connor be able to talk Kailo into going to OM? Kailo has stayed committed when he could have recommitted at any time. Don't write MSU off in this.

    Now also remember that Brad Logan was just exposed who is the most public board member of the ole miss touchdown club. The public leader if you will. I would take anything John Talty says with a grain of salt. Their recruiting machine is more active than it has ever been right now. Rosebowl had a meltdown in chat when asked about Talty recently. Something is weird here...

I guess I've kinda expected it.

He was wearing MSU stuff all week and on video told Chris Jones that he's been a Dawg since June and nothing was going to change that. So I guess that was making feel good abou where we stood with Kailo. I would love Tony Conner to come to MSU, bum I'm pretty realistic about our chances of us actually getting him. Now with Kailo saying he's going to the same school as Conner, I guess I might as well get over it and just accept it. This had the chance to be a really damn good class. Now it will be a pretty good class.

Next question is would this open the door for us to look at Ashton Shumpert playing RB? I know our staff has been interested in him playing safety, but with no RB for this class would we consider changing our minds and pitching RB to Shumpert?

I would also like to add that the conversation b/t Talty and OMTD club was on December 6th. Logan started the rumor on december 8th. The show on KGNU that Logan sourced only airs on the 4th Monday of every month, which would be November 26th. Why would he wait almost 2 weeks to pass this "info" along on dec 8th? Also, Logan has deleted those tweets in question. Those 17ers are up to something

I'm pretty sure Shumpert is going to get a shot at RB for us, and Ole Miss is recruiting him as a defensive player.

Shump is going to get a look at RB first- has been told that long ago.

All this article says is Kalio is convinced he can get Conner to sign with MSU even though he won't commit.

Facts:

Kalio is committed to us.
Conner hasn't committed to anyone.

All of this is being done to rile MSU fans up

and get our dumbest to harass him on twitter to turn him off from the Bulldogs (see CJ).

The ole miss recruitment machine is a damn powerful force.

That's how I look at it. Moore could very well end up signing with OM, but I think he's just talking here. I think folks are making to much out of it.

Well-handled responses in this thread for the most part... Proud of SPS on this one! Now, if we can just keep the idiots off Kailo's twitter feed, we will be golden...

My take?

It is very possible that Conner is feeling a nice little "MSU bump" while playing/practicing with 9 MSU commitments. There is only one OM commit there period - the receiver from Eupora - who may not be 100% sold on Ole Miss based on new rumors. Then, you've got Shumpert, who is widely considered to be a State lean at this point, and we've got basically ALL the momentum this week at this game. IF we were ever going to get back in the game with Conner, this was always going to be our best chance to make it happen.

Not saying that I'm right - but it certainly makes sense...

Didn't Channing Ward and Quay Evans and Nick James all say they were playing together too? I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad

Just because Conner and Moore may not sign with State doesn't mean they're signing with OM. We all know Saban wants Conner and word on the street is that Tenpenny (sp?) is wobbling, so Bama has started calling on Moore. For some reason I can see 'em both signing with Bama.

ETA: In the end I think they both stay in-state, though I have no idea where they end up.

Saban has Tyren Jones committed and Derrick Henry anxious. ...

Yeah he goes through RBs like I go through bran flakes, but Moore is nothing more than a Plan E or F

I've been weary of Talty since the CL thought they needed a full time recruiting journalist.
