That's at least reassuring enough to get me through the night. He sounds like a legit kid from what I've read today.
All this sounds good to me...
The kid seems athletic enough outside the pocket as well to succeed in our current scheme. Alot of talk that he's growing late -- and was closer to 5'11 early in his recruitment but is almost to 6'2 now -- so that held him back to an extent I'm sure...
Seems like a gritty competitor that will not be shocked culturally by MSU -- which I was concerned about. Based on what his coach said, what Dilfer said, and what I see in his sr highlights video, I think he's a pretty damn good choice given the point in the game.
Another thing of note -- it's highly unlikely that Koenning is here for 5 more years(or really even Mullen if we're being honest). I realize that this is a big assumption to make -- but Hud has shown repeatedly that he prefers a pass-first spread and has had great success with that elsewhere. This guy fits that scheme perfectly.

Sounds promising. The coach speaks in a manner that indicates he could very well come to us. And he's interested in academics ... that will be a double deal if we can get it.

Really hope we can get this guy. Just watched the elite 11 video and he was impressive. what i thought was interesting was that of the 32 starting qbs in the nfl this year 22 of them made the elite 11.
From what I've heard about Fresno
From a friend who worked in the area and went to the OM game up there in 2011, I would be shocked if an ambitious recruit (which this guy seems to be based on all the camps he went to) turned down an SEC offer to play at Fresno. It is weird that he doesn't have any lower level PAC 12 offers though.
