Sounds as gay as in 2009 when we lost the Egg Bowl and attempted to brag about going to another Cotton Bowl. When I say "we" I mean not me personally, but I'm aware many in our fan base attempted that ruse.

Look at our schedule next year. If we have an early season stumble and Mullen stands up at a presser and says, "Back to Back Gator Bowls!!" I will jump off the closest bridge yelling fify the whole way down. That said, enjoy legion field rebs, I heard its nice in January.
Back to back Gator Bowls would imply we're going to the Gator bowl this year and next year. I'll take 8-4 next year in a heartbeat.

The truth is, no one - including the bowl committees - has any idea where teams are headed right now. There's a variety of scenarios preventing the non-BCS SEC tie-ins from shoring up their selections early. Everything from the politics of a UT/AM Cotton Bowl to Kent State's potential BCS eligibility to the conference title games. For instance, in order for Vandy to go to the Gator, it's likely they'd need Wisconsin to lose this weekend, to avoid seeing Northwestern in a rematch game.
There's a ton of these type situations going on. If I was forced to pick, I'd say State ends up in Nashville or Jacksonville, but to come on a board and proclaim the Gator Bowl like you're even an iota in the know is the kind of shortsighted bravado that earned you such a sterling rep.

Glad you came out Godfrey but I disagree. I think many of the bowls already know who they have. Remember when other conferences used to announce before the SEC but basically fell in line and waited? The bowl selection process,discussion,drama, and hype has become a revenue generating source in itself and the tv and radio networks, as well as websites/blogs, love all the interest ($$) they are creating. I dont know Stricklin or if he said what Coach is claiming, but I do know other "higher ups" would be shocked if we dont go Gator. The certainty of these individuals sells me on the Gator as well
I think the most likely destination for MSU is the Gator, for what it's worth. What I've been told this week by bowl officials is that they each have a list of teams they're in contention for. Then things get sorted out. So for MSU, you're on the list for the Gator, Peach, Music City, BBVA, etc...

I think if you look really close at the grass on Legion field, you can see the BAMA and UAB logos spray painted on top of each other under the Field Turf. Do the high school teams in Alabama still play there for playoffs?
