True. I don’t know details. Heard he had a season ending injury, then also heard a parent wanted a extra year of him playing a different position as he’s being recruited for. Either way he is gone. We will definitely miss him this season

Thanks for that! they are usually transfer central, looks like they got a taste of it a bit haha. Any back ups on the roster?

As of now. Who knows what Radford got up his sleeve. I know we have a freshman that’s top 10 National for his class. To early to say who will be taking snaps

The freshman we have coming in is supposed to be big time. However, I can’t imagine what a massive let down the other players and coaches must be feeling from conleys decision. I understand the ability to reclass is highly appealing, but his teammates have to be incredibly deflated. Asheville hasn’t had this sort of excitement and expectation for an upcoming season in quite some time, so his departure is devastating. I have to imagine the freshman will be the starter seeing as how he’s a National prospect, but man that’s about as disappointing as it gets. And to leave that to go a 4-5 Christ school team…..

There has to be some type of bad blood there, they could have walked through the MAC with conley. Wish there was a way to keep kids like that at the public schools, thats whats best for mountain school football. The cougars have a good staff and will bounce back! I will have to come catch a game to see this freshman if he is the starter.

Actually no bad blood at all. Young man projects as an athlete and not a QB at the next level where he already has offers. With the ability to redshirt and then use the transfer portal if necessary, I don't understand why he is going backwards and not forward. But by all accounts the young man is a real good kid who got along well with the staff.

He seems like a good kid. Hope the best for him!

I suspect ACR and Asheville both will lean heavily on their strong returning defenses. Both I believe return 8 starters from very good defenses. Losing QB’s will be tough to handle for both but both also have lots of athletes that can fill the void. I wish the best to both QB’s who transferred.
Any clue who takes the snaps for Reynolds?

An old buddy of mine who is a 2x state championship coach in VA was at the UNC tournament. Was told the freshman got all of the snaps and that he can sling it. Best freshman QB he's seen. Also said they have a top notch WR and defense was very fast. Does any cougar fans have a summer schedule for them? or Reynolds guy have a summer schedule for the Rockets? Want to try to catch some summer action. Happy Fathers Day Guys!

Don't know the summer schedule but we might want to pump the breaks a little on the probable QB. From what I've seen and heard he is very talented for sure, but losing a two season starter who knew the system and who had the trust of the staff to make the right decisions will be very difficult to replace. That being said, if the Frosh will go to work and allow himself to be coached, he has an opportunity to be very very special during his high school career for the Cougars.
