A wise old coach told me one time , on a pass play 3 things can happen and two of them ARE BAD......The game we threw it the most was the game we played the WORST.....I think we have 10 passing td's and 30 rushing td's...Completed 65% of our passes, which is really good ,especially with a freshman qb, but 35% of the time when you throw you get 0 yardage.....By throwing constantly , the linebackers, corners and safeties begin to get deeper drops that make it easier to play the pass, and the defensive linemen just tee off with no worry about getting hurt by the run......But by mixing in the constant run those d linemen , linebackers and safeties have to be ready to fill their gaps and lanes to stop the run.... Here we are Setting in a position in the final week to win the Conference Championship.....Once you get that run established , those backers and safeties begin to move up , and that my friends opens up the passing lanes..If they dont you continue to pound the football with the ground attack.......Play calling all depends on the down and distance , time on the clock ,timeouts , score, and what the defense is giving you...Hey, this team has not been perfect, but they are getting better at the right time.....All we asked for was a chance at the end and we have put ourselves in that position.. ..Once a Raider , ALWAYS A RAIDER....
Just wondering do you have the offensive line to pass protect against Scotland.
Everybody talks bad about our offensive line...In my opinion they are the MOST IMPROVED BUNCH ON OUR TEAM......Guess we'll find out Friday night....
