Croom part 2. Color me unconvinced that Ellis Johnson just comes right back from 0-12 and is an effective as he used to be. Then Cheese Harbison, give me a break.

Coach Grimes is a good coach. Put tons of guys in the league - even here. Look at what he had to work with. I mean geeze he turned guys like Brian Anderson into serviceable SEC linemen.

At first I thought it was pretty weird how many Croom guys were coming to Auburn, but then I thought about the, what I thought was coach speak, quote from Gus in regards to retaining Trooper and his former colleagues about how he was going to let all the coordinators make the position hires.

Ellis put together a juggernaut D at USC but I don't think he gets as much credit as Spurrier or the players. He gets 100% of the credit for what he did at MSU. Why not hire back all the same guys?

For our one good season during the croom years. Given the advanced level of putrefaction that was our offense that is really saying something. The man can flat out coach defense.

You can clearly have a good defense if Cheese is a position coach. Didn't seem to hurt us too bad when he was a position coach for us. Now maybe somebody has been a career position coach for a reason and shouldn't be promoted to defensive coordinator unless you have a really good reason, like being too lazy to go find a good candidate for DC.
