give it a week and something 'big will be found' on another school to deflect from the #2 team with a coach who still hasn't gotten hit with ncaa action from the self imposed 4 game suspension in addition to this! watch

It was supposed to be a 4 game suspension. Ended up only being 3...he was back for the Rutgers game.

Schiano was lying at Indiana post game presser. Anyone still think he was talking about the officials at the halftime interview ?
Plum was the first or second in the entire USA to make the correlation to that interview and sign stealing ! Legend grows!!
I acknowledge you’ve been right with a few predictions in the past, but your head must be the size of the Goodyear blimp. Do you ever stop with the shameless self-promotion and aggrandizement?

He has never been wrong. When it seems he is wrong it just hasn't happened yet.

Well you are wrong again!! 🤣 Your batting average just dipped below the Mendoza line.
Stop!! You’re the guy that said usc would never be in the BIG …lol!! And that was in a thread I started telling the league to add USC , which was a genius thread !

He never mentions his "Pike will get us spiked" prediction.

👍
I do recall the Pike has brought us as far as he could jibes. Same crap we heard with GS 1.0... even as the haters gave Flood credit for a share of a championship.

Seriously? You have 20 minutes at halftime to get your team in the locker room, talk to them, then get them back out. There's no way you can change the signs at that point.

So there is no backup plan?
We go through all this effort of having 3 guys with 3 different colors hats/shirts to hide our signs because they are so important.
But if someone cracks them during a game - and we know it (based on the premise the HC Schiano was actually talking about it at halftime as has been argued) - the response is "oh well. Lets just keep doing our thing and just see how it happens?"

Others have indicated there are a series of mitigation options- wristband, send the play in with a substitute.
Assuming HC Schiano employed something, then the sign stealing was immaterial in the 2nd half when we were outscored 17-0. Particularly on the Pick 6 play.

I don't think that if you had no idea before the game, that they are doing this- there is almost nothing you really can do- even to plan a backup plan- are you then having ALL the players know 2 or 3 different set of signals?

As far as the B1G conference - it‘s just a microcosm of the “NCAA”. The B1G is 2 teams - UM and OSU. If the hammer comes down, it won’t be because of all the other pee-ons whining in a zoom call. They have no say.

Bottom line, if UM gets dinged, it’s because it’s good for business for the big guys. IMHO, it’s all is OSU‘s hands. And for all their hatred, the powers that be KNOW this rivalry still stirs the drink. Either way, it will be fascinating to watch….
still better for us than the Big East where Providence ruled....

Schiano said it was about the officiating.
Yes. That's what he said.

But only Schiano knows the veracity of that statement. That's how it was then, how it is now, and how it will always be.

Which is why you will rarely see me wasting time speculating about what a person must have meant by whatever they said. We will never know. So why bother?

Posted this in the other thread.

This what I said initially, I'd be surprised if anything is done this season to affect the current year. Even when the punishment is doled out I'd expect stuff that might hit Harbaugh or scholarships or fines but not things that affect on field stuff like post season ban etc.. NCAA has shifted away from punishments that affect players who didn't do anything wrong.

Considering Penn State ultimately wasnt very severely punished for allowing major criminal acts against children for years I'm guessing Michigan won't get any meaningful punishment. Sports are a place where rules don't really matter now: see Tom Brady, Houston Astros, etc.

No one wants to admit it, but sports is just one step removed from WWE.

And TBH - for pure entertainment, any scripted event is probably more fun than most games with lower 3rd CFB teams.

The problem with the BIG it is happening to the golden child of the league. So that’s the predicament the BIG leadership is in . There would also be this dilemma if it was Ohio state.
Any of the other 12 would be banned from the title game by now. The BIG is hoping Ohio state beats them and wins the east
False. No other team would be banned and it doesn’t matter that Michigan is the culprit.
The issues are due process and equitable penalty.

Only solution is a weak penalty that Michigan will accept. A fine, a loss of a few scholarships, like that.

Given the NCAA’s sanction decisions of late don’t impact uninvolved players, the Big10 won’t either.

You’re probably right.

I still want us to win out .
Schiano can then still angle and hope for a gator bowl type invite to Indy !

Stop. You were wrong as I told you they would have to add other West Coast teams who have no TV $ value. Guess you were the dumb one and I called it!

College football is anything but fair. Recruiting, conference alignment, schedules, all tilted in favor of or against certain programs. We shouldn't expect written rules to be enforced with zeal, unfortunately.

So... you're saying there won't be public beheadings of all the UM players? WTF!

First it was getting rid of battles to the death in coliseums. Then they banned jousting. Scroll forward a couple centuries and they outlawed slamming QBs into the ground 20 seconds after the play ended.

Nobody likes to have any fun anymore.

Speculating.. Isn't that what you are doing in calling out others for doing it? "only Schiano knows"... you are speculating that it could go either way.

Half the people you blame for discussing it are saying that the fact is Schiano said it was officiating. The other half are speculating. And you just opened the door to speculating while condemning those who speculate.

I do not understand what your game is here. You seem to be offering an idea there is a difference but it is a difference without any distinction.

NCAA and the B1G wouldn't ban or penalize even Rutgers- but we would self impose a 5 year post season ban, loss of 10 ships a year, penalty of 20 mil, etc...

How can anyone see him say "run right"? But, yeah, the defense def looks like they sell out vs run as if pass is not an option. Safety on run side left a huge opportunity for a TD pass... giant gap.

I'm sure I forgot hundreds of things. Nonetheless, 100% of OSU fans agree, we should penalize the UM players for the actions of the coaching staff.

If any punishments go into future seasons with bowl bans and such, i wonder if it will affect any NIL deals for the players
