Ahh recruiting the annual party where older guys get their hopes dashed by 17 year olds.

VS the annual party of older guys getting upset by a 19 year old player not making a block, a tackle, a catch, or a pass in an actual game. Yes sports isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. Maybe we should all turn our complete attention to more important things such as Trumps administration and how it will effect the world. And as recruiting/sports may seem it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of life, it does make some of us happy to be fans of this program and happiness in life does matter. It's ok to be disappointed when things don't turn out for the way one wanted but I agree there's a fine line between acting a fool and acting like a fan sometimes. Some of us are just a little unhappy at the moment.

Did I get my hopes up? Yes, many people believed this would be a big time recruiting year for this staff. Is it going to ruin my day? No, I'm going to Vegas with my 2 best men from my wedding. I'm going to have an amazing day.

If you want to act like the cool guy and act like its stupid we care maybe too much about where a 17 year commits too, that's fine. I understand when others act like you are but your a mod on a recruiting website. Seems like your being a touch hypocritical or at least like you'd understand our understanding. It's not like we just picked up following all of this yesterday. We've invested a ton of time in this. Many of us know that not landing a bunch of good 17 year olds today will likely lead to more of the same on the football field in years to come. If your just a chill laid back fan that's cool but these post and websites are usually filled by fans that are more than just your casual fan.

I'm as crazy about the Huskers as the next guy but just try to put recruiting in perspective in the big scheme of things. If we don't get certain players I'm not freaking out over it and blaming the staff. Some guys just go too far with their comments about this stuff.

Anyone picking a scholarship at Wyoming over a scholarship at Nebraska is someone that doesn't want to compete on the bigger scene. There's no other way of saying it.

Or maybe he might honor his commitment to a school and head coach that actually believed in him in the first place.

Fans criticize recruits when they flip from their school to a different school. Now it is okay to criticize a recruits desire/heart to compete at the larger hometown school if he doesn't flip his commitment because the hometown school is scrambling to fill it's recruiting class?!! Sounds hypocritical to me!!

To much of a blanket statement for me to agree with. If Wyoming had been showing somebody major love for a long time and made you feel like a special part of their class, and Nebraska came calling very late in the process and only after their first 3 or 4 guys said no, I could totally see it.

East has camped at Wyo for the last 3 years so Bohl and crew have had a lot of time to evaluate and build a relationship. Also, Bohl and Gingery are very good friends so who knows if that plays into anything.

So because Chris Walker hasn't flipped to us already people are sure he isn't coming? He has a visit scheduled on January 20 and there's still almost a month until signing day. If the situation were reversed and we had a commit whose hometown school offered, we'd expect him to still do his due diligence and think it over. Why can't we give him time to do that? David Engelhaupt flipped from Wyoming almost immediately last year, but he didn't have any time to think it over-the offer came the day before signing day.

We have become Minnesota and Northwrstern hoping to become Wisconsin and Michigan State. Our recruiting reflects that. Stay real and it won't hurt as bad!

the coaches need to tell him to flip soon or we are moving on to the next kid on our board with a bunch of FCS and division 2 offers

So if Chris Walker doesn't flip to Nebraska and decides to honor the commitment he made to Wyoming on October 7th...you won't respect his decision?

Outside with the wink emojis and in with randomly using the bold function.

No, I won't respect his decision nor will I respect him. One has to be an idiot to choose Wyoming over Nebraska. The simple fact you struggle to understand this says all I need to know about you.

Criticize someone that simply seeks clarification with your comments/thoughts about a topic...that is what we know about you.

The only evidence I have is that we lost our last two games, and I still believe he'd have been a huge upgrade against Iowa and when Riley ran Fyfe out there the whole team played like they knew they had no shot. Probably wouln't have made much diff against Tenn, but I thought we had a legit shot to beat Iowa and get to the 10 win mark. But now we'll never know.

You can believe what ever you want-I believe throwing a true freshman in his first game on the road against a team that had just beaten an undefeated Michigan two weeks before on the same field was not a good strategy.

Silly me, wanting to empty the clip and do anything necessary to beat our rival and try to get to 10 wins. I can see why some people would think i'm an idiot for wanting to try it.

Personally I'm the eternal optimist. I noticed the 2 red exclamation points in his tweet.
I hear ya sparky me too. I'm an old fart & been through at least 62 - 63 recruiting classes that I can actually remember (-: Recruiting has changed a lot thru the years. It's so crazy with the Hollywood infused BS these days so I won't get too excited until January 31 thru the next month when the action actually takes place. Hell of a lot less stressful that's for sure.

Nah, it's someone that doesn't want to compete at a place like Nebraska. Zero reason for a kid to choose Wyoming over Nebraska, see David Engelhaupt a year ago.
I just dont think its fair to say that. I get what you mean but loyalty and "they believed in me from the beginning" is legit. Or liking coaching staffs over others (not a knock on riley or staff just different personalities mesh better with different people, plus they probably have built a good relationship).
Hes visiting and i think we will flip him so this discussion will be moot anyway. He will be a Husker.
