If the team starts winning regularly, tickets will sell. Doesn't matter if it's next year or in three years. Could take a couple years, depending on how much winning is occurring.
IMO, lost revenue is a short term issue unless RU drops out of the Big Ten.
I reached that point 2, or was it 3 yrs, ago. It was after Nova's 5 or 6 interception performance & KF gave Nova that ringing endorsement, even to the point of anointing him as the next yrs. starting QB. Gave the tickets up. Couldn't invest the same emotionally or financially in such a wrong headed, losing proposition.

Go take a look at the data of any of our contemporaries in the B1G, Purdue is a good one: Both RU and Purdue have similar costs for Athletics, around 75 million. But, Purdue makes about $30 million more in revenue than wee do. The two biggest numbers off the top or my head were in B1G revenue share and ticket sales. While we are waiting for the B1G revenue share to come in the only revenue number we can control is ticket sales and related donations.
Compare the Ohio State game attendance figures with the Nebraska figures 53000 to 45000 a difference of about 8000 the difference there would be the draw of OSU and and the lack of enthusiasm given RUs struggles. losing 5000 paying customers over 7 games is going to cost RU a lot in lost revenue.

How can Purdue have ticket sales advantage over us?
We are averaging about 10k per game better than them.
Are they counting concessions?...if so, are they selling beer?

If the administration gives the fans the finger by keeping Flood, a good portion of the fans will give the finger right back and say the hell with this. How many is debatable, but no doubt, it will happen to some extent.
The difficult thing to estimate how much lost revenue there will be from lost donations if we keep Flood.
There are probably a lot of people on this board (and elsewhere) that will make a one time donation if we hire a new coach, regardless of who it is.
My guess is the better received the new coach is, the more $ people will donate to help our financial situation and support the football program.
If we hire a perceived dud, the contribution will be small.
If we hire a perceived home run, the contribution will be greater, as the fans will reward an effort by the admin to put the best product possible on the field.
If we keep Flood, (almost) NO ONE (there are always some wacko exceptions) is going to increase their donations.
This is probably not a typical example, but I will admit I have given very little to the athletic department in my lifetime.

They reported $14,000,000 million in ticket sales we reported around $9,000,000 or $10,000,000. I'll see if I can find the link.

You were expecting RU Football to excel against the B1G? And if not you were expecting fans to sell out the stadium of an over matched under supported loser?
Is it just FB revenue or all athletics? There basketball revenue has to be a significant multiple higher than ours.
The difference may very well be how the schools differ in accounting practices. Purdue has a student activity fee for events included in their tuition and fees that each student pays. In addition, Purdue sells the students $99 Boarding Passes for football season tickets and free access to the basketball games. I'm sure the $99/student boarding pass is factored into their revenue. Obviously at Rutgers the $10M in our subsidy covers the students athletic events cost and I'm not sure if that shows up as Rutgers ticket revenue for sporting events.

If you didn't think tickets would be harder to get once we started Big Ten pay I don't believe you. I think many people held on to tickets in the 2000s based on the hope we would go Big Ten. Certainly RU was pushing the angle that you'd lose your season ticket areas if you didn't continue...
I'm down for a little cheating for sure but i would think a person who is "slick" would be able to get more quality athletes to come in.......we are severely lacking in team speed & this will continue to get worse & yes Flood has "balanced" the depth chart but i really haven't seen many difference makers

I know many season ticketholders who are giving up their tickets seats if Fudd returns.
As a 17 year season ticket holder and a Donor with PPs I have already written Julie Herman and told her I willing be doing the same.
Im probably an average ticket holder. I donate in the very low thousands not tens of thousands. With 6 tickets. I will be donating nothing and going from 6 to 4 next year assuming flood will be back.

I have unlimited options to get tickets and parking passes whenever I desire.
Going down to 1 ticket at the lowest price which won't be used and no parking. Will cherry pick games to go to as cheap as possible but move to sit in good seats. Yellow coats are for show.

What really stood out to me...between RU and Purdue..Was the bowl, TV , etc payouts section...they got $20m more and lost $5m more than us as dept.
You are the type of fan who Rutgers would miss the most. The 1000 fans who reduce their donations from $3000 to the $500 minimum required for their seats will cost Rutgers $3 MM in donations. And another $700K as you drop 2 season tickets.
Never heard anyone who is in the Scarlet Lot refer to it as the Red Lot. Just saying.
I don't get this mentality (unless you have unlimited $$$) . If you are a long time season ticket holder and don't renew your tix you lose your priority points.
If hypothetically 1 or 2 years later Rutgers hires that home-run coach you've always wanted you just f*cked yourself into starting all over again on parking and priority points. Wouldn't it be better to keep your tix and parking passes, sell them ever year to visiting B1G fans to get your money back and wait until there is a coaching change?

KF is currently the 65th or so highest paid coach in the country.
Our expenditures, outside of extraordinary items, are in the bottom quartile of our conference.
Our donation levels, parking prices and ticket prices are at a minimum in the bottom half of the conference.
What expenses would you put on the table to cut?
What do we do that is best in class in the conference?
I could list you 3 dozen ways to grow revenue.
I couldn't list you one way to further reduce costs while simultaneously attempting to be competitive.

I don't have a season Red pass but I just got a Red pass for the Mary game. That is the way I had referred to it cause I am old school I guess. These guys will try any angle to bring a poster's opinion down to fit theirs.
