How come we put our players into the blender year in and year out against Miami to start the season?
They get their asses kicked for the most part (0-3 giving up 35 runs) and begin each year in the hole. Certainly there are other schools to open the season with that give a much better chance to win some.
Time to change this plan.

We play Miami every year. However, we lightened up our schedule from what it was 2 years ago

Is it possible that Rutgers baseball gets a nice pay check? Playing them certainly keeps our pitching staff humble and our punching bag status intact.

this nonsense with playing mimai being anything close to th issue has to stop. It is baseball playing a series against a top 25 team or a few is not the problem. This isnt football.

We use to be somewhat competitive. The team really has slid downhill quite a bit.

Rutgers baseball would have trouble winning the Div-III NJ Athletic Conference. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ramapo College Roadrunners program has produced more professional baseball players than Rutgers over the last ten years.

We’ve always gotten pounded the first week down south. They are in mid season form; quite a bit different from playing in the bubble or RAC parking lot.

Some reason for optimism today. Our number one starter shut down a pretty good hitting team.

While the lineup has not really produced so far, the four starters they have faced were no slouches.

Dezzi, who got three hits today including the game-winner, seems like a find at the DH and Brito seems like he can swing the bat.

Hopefully the injured shortstop will come back sooner than expected. If Richie Schiekofer is declared eligible early enough to play him that will give them a left-handed bat that they desperately need. It is too bad that Miles Kelly left without playing a game; they could have used a left-handed power hitter. Maybe things won’t be as bad as many think.

Yes. Not the same.
However, its much much better than we've had in the years past. Now they can practice indoors from the beginning of the school year.
Just not as a team. Pitchers and catchers can work out just like QB's and WR's in the off season. Batters can use the cages and field
players can hone their skills. Much better than the back of the RAC and the Green Lot before the Solar panels.
