That is sad, my FIL had dementia and Alzheimer’s and I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. It stripped him of his dignity, his personalty, and basically he was a shell of himself that barely ate and breathed. It was hell on our family watching him wither away, taking care of him was hard but watching the pain he suffered was the worst. Prayers to Huggins family. May he find peace.

Sorry to hear this.

Really hope advances in technology and medicine can lead to improved treatment for these types of conditions soon. Just awful to watch someone go through that.

My grandma has had dementia for the past 2.5 years. She is in her mid 80s. When I visit her, she will often get stuck in the same loop of asking if I am married, have kids, ask where I work, etc. It is draining. Then in other moments I can have what seems like a completely normal convo with her for a decent amount of time and it feels good before the facade is shattered by another loop of questions about my life that she used to know.

I hate this disease. I hope Huggins can make the most of his life going forward with it.
