Did not have that on my bingo card today. I hope everything is ok and this is just a "want to be able to enjoy life" retiring.
Glasgow got released yesterday by Lions, he has played C.

Bears Center Drew Dalman retires at 27. I swear you can't make this stuff up.

Between this and Tripilo being out most of next year I guess OL is back to being an offseason priority.
I just heard. These two linemen are irreplaceable for next year. The Bears are screwed!

We will really find out what Caleb is made out of now.

Linderbaum will be the goal. And he would be, in my opinion, an upgrade over Dalman
He has a 20 million a year offer from the Ravens, luring him away from that could cost 25 mil, signing him would drain our budget. I think they can find a cheaper capable replacement at that position. I'm good with the Commanders center. He was at Halas Hall yesterday.

He is going to be the highest paid center ever.

Losing a guy to injuries is one thing. But it isn't very common for a guy who's 27 and in health to walk away from playing. Unless there is something going on that very few people know about. And it figures. Just when we are feeling good about the OL this happens. Played every offensive snap in 2025. But he had some ankle issues before that.

Hey, maybe the guy just wants to walk away while he still can. If that's the case, I applaud him. Very few guys look ahead like that. Especially at that age.

Stanford Alum. So he's extremely smart. Andrew Luck is another Stanford alum who walked away earlier then many expected. He did wear a more specialized helmet so I'm sure head injuries were a concern. Maybe he was experiencing early signs and with this education and millions properly invested he felt the need to walk away

Yup. Becoming more and more of the go to. Get your free agent contract and then call it a day.

My question is who will be the first college kid to make $8-$10 million in NIL money and say screw it and walk away from football and "retire" at 22.

Much sooner then later. Who is the Tennessee/UCLA QB who Tennessee initially gave 8 mil and he left for more that I'm assuming UCLA gave him and he's looking like a day 3 at best draft pick after his first two seasons.

I'd collect that back up/3rd string QB money all day, lol!

If the NFL were really concerned about its players, it ought to be mandatory retirement by age 30 for guys playing on the O-line.
