I need suggestions for the best/neediest/most effective place to give money to in the athletic department, outside of football. Is there a specific project that would be a good place to donate to?

Ok, I will plug a team:

Right now, I support the wrestling team. That team is really at a crossroads right now, and we need to show the school what it can become with proper support. It is absolutely critical that the school commit more resources. We were 6th in national attendance last year, and are a program on the rise.

They have an initiative that I believe is ongoing called the "Wrestling Coaches Fund" which is designed to earmark funds to bring Olympic Trainees to train at Rutgers. A little bit can make a big difference, as these trainees work with our athletes daily, getting their competition up, and they only make a stipend of $40k or so, so a gift of a few thousand is actually making a measurable difference.

Wasn't there a place online where you could donate to funding the new facilities plan? The practice center on Livingston with parking garage. That's were I'd put my money. Winter sports facilities really need a boost.

Hard to pick one that needs it the most. Pick a favorite or one that you remember from your time there. Otherwise you can buy a brick & have it go to the general fund

I love wrestling but unfortunately I don't think we'll sniff even a big ten title while we're alive with Iowa PSU and OSU on our conference

This is what bothers me... That page does not explain what you are giving too with a plan. They need to take the master plan and say we are fundraising for X, not give us money and we may build something eventually.

Same thing bother me as well. They are raising money for the parking deck building that in all likelihood will never be built.

It's about producing All Americans and possible future national champions. Put 5 guys into the AA round and finish top 20 at nationals and that is an enormous feat.

Wrestling also has the potential to be a revenue generating sport, attracts thousands per match and sits in a hotbed of wrestling talent.

The basketball facility will never get built if no one donates. So if you can, please donate to the Big Ten fund.

Baseball and softball could use improved grandstand seating. They just completed fund raising for an indoor training facility. Ground breaking on the 24th of this month. However, they both need grandstands that would create more of a "ballpark look to them. Baseball has a solid history and softball has been winning lately but there is room to get better..

The "Big Ten Build" fund is way too generic. When I found out baseball/softball were trying to raise money for a practice facility last fall I called RU up that day and donated towards it. You can be pretty specific to what you want your money donated too. Write it on the check. I've donated for certain sports to get treadmills, increase their recruiting budget, etc.
