The fact that Ash and Jordan don't have byes is absolutely absurd. There is literally no factual basis to that decision.

That weight class only had 6 spots for allocation, so I guess that was the rational to make it random draw. I agree, it makes no sense. Not sure why they couldn't seed 1-14 for all weight classes regardless.

Getting that early match helps your team score. Good chance for bonus points.

Yes, you're right. But honestly, how much does team score, or winning the team tournament even mean? Ohio St has won it few times in a row, and in 2 weeks nobody will care. IMO, this or any conference tournament is getting your ticket punched for the borderline qualifiers and improving your seeding for Nationals for the AA contenders.

For OSU and PSU, winning the conference is another reason to add to the banners in their gym with the NCAA banner the ultimate prize of course. Those early round bonus points could be make or break in any team tourney. If Rutgers were ever able to win the B1G, it would be a huge accomplishment and this board would go ape s**t.

To me, Big 10 wrestling is like Big 10 VB. It’s more difficult to win the Big 10 than it is to win the National title.

You win the B1G you got a 90% chance or better of winning the National Championship. So yea we'd go ape sh*t. However I don't see that ever happening unless some huge leaps and I mean huge happen in my life time. We're just not recruiting well enough. We might see a top 4 performance on the off chance of a lucky year and some schools having a down year. But that's about it.

100% agree. Right off the bat you are wrestling a stud. Look at JVB, he’s ranked 15 and has Hayes 1st rd. Very good chance he doesn’t auto qualify. He most likely has Parriott to qualify

I'm with you on that. My point is winning the B1G in wrestling would be a major accomplishment in the baddest conference (IMO) in all of college sports. My post was a rebuttal of "who cares" about a conference championship. I know I certainly would, as it means we leap frogged the upper echelon of college wrestling.
