You never leaving here seems to be a guarantee even though Texless is leaving Big 12 for SEC so they can be the new Nebraska.
It doesn’t matter what conference e WVU is in. ESPN is going to get the Super Conferences they have wanted since killing the BCS model. Now you can have the 4 conference champs in the playoff, 4 at large (possibly 8 at large/wild card teams)
The rich will get so much richer with NIL. You will have high school kids securing their financial freedom as juniors as they get recruited by Texas to play in the SEC. A&M is pissed because they have out recruited Texas because of this. Texas now will own their recruiting in the state again and pay big $$$$ thr NIL. OU will do the same.
SEC will turn into a BIG 5 little 11 conference when this happens (Texas, Bama, Auburn, Florida, OU) cause the money going to flow like wine to the recruits legally. AND The NCAA is as powerless as they have ever bee
Kentucky, Mizzou, A&M, Ole Miss etc…don’t stand a chance.
It’s hard to call this a smart move by Oklahoma and Texas. It’s a no-brainer. I wouldn’t be surprised if they offer to pay a massive settlement just to get out I start playing by 2023. They will make that money back up in no time and boosters will shovel it out.

Starting to sound like two MEGA conferences in the works. Will it be 32 teams, maybe 40 ultimately? Shaking out like a college super bowl - SEC vs B1G in '22.
Why would they do that?
B1G is probably the one that took it hardest on the chin
Might target Texas A&M. But doubt that will work out. Like you said. It would suck to play Minnesota or Wisconsin
Because the B1G and SEC are the largest benefactors of TV cash, and the B1G has the largest alumni base of any conference. Don't think the B1G isn't going to be reaching out to other schools, or vice-versa, in the case of Kansas. Kansas joining the B1G would make the basketball conference even stronger than it already is, and would likely help them in football recruiting, particularly if K-State, Okie-State, and a few Texas schools are left standing out in the cold.

To be honest, I prefer FOX any day of the week over ESPN. ESPN is too woke, and they'll be highlighting LeBron James until the year 2058. I don't watch ESPN or listen to any of their radio shows. It's all FOX for me, except of course when there's a college game on ESPN that I'm interested in.
Going to miss Urban Meyer though on the Saturday pre-game show. He's the best on breaking down the games, and giving honest opinion, without worrying about offending anybody or kissing anybody's ***. Haven't paid attention, so not sure who will be replacing him this year, but I'm assuming it's some out-of-work former coach. Maybe they should have Clay Travis on there.
Edit: Bob Stoops is replacing Meyer. He should be good. For sure, better than the Biden-like guy on ESPN's pre-game show.

Top recruiting teams in the B1G recruit nationally, and if the field is cut to 32 teams, even more to choose from.

I agree with you and have said this for years. The GOR is just a contract which can be litigated like any other...
Ive specifically mentioned dissolving the conference as an option. I forget what the vote threshold which needs to be met, but if 7 out of 10 schools can find landing spots they will do it...
That's what I heard about 3 years ago. 4 regions and either 32 or 40 teams and they would seperate from NCAA. The 32 sounds right as it would equal the NFL numbers and be farm teams.
Iowa State / Kansas / Kansas State / Oklahoma State end up in Big10. Not sure what combination probably not all 4.
The rest of the Big12 merge with AAC maybe add BYU.
Back to 15 million a year payouts.

From what I read, the ACC can open up negotiations on their TV deal if they add a new member, so they might actually have incentive to bring someone in...
I'm not sure if the B1G really needs to expand at all, but I think 16 conferences are the obvious future and there's only a few pieces left on the board, which wont change in 10 years.

Was just told again this morning that the B1G is eyeing to get to 16 schools. The choices as of right now, in order, are UVA, UNC, GT, Kansas.
BYU is not a candidate for anything, the Mountain West doesn't even want them back

I dont think it's unrealistic. Lets say 7 of the 10 teams can find a comfortable landing spot, that is probably enough to vote to dissolve the conference.
Also, with Texas/OU gone I think you could legally argue that those agreements are no longer valid. Basically, you agreed to those GOR stipulations when playing in the conference with its previous makeup...the conference has changed so the agreements can change.
Correct. And if I recall correctly it was one reason the Big East collapsed when they couldn't keep at least 8 teams. Only WVU got sued for some strange reason.

If I recall, the Big East sued for the buyout...and didn't WVU countersue?
It was all settled, as anyone with a brain knew it would. I remember Pitt idiots predicting we'd owe absurd cash to leave early, it didn't happen.
Just like GORs, they will all be litigated and settled. Anyone who thinks the conference will walk away with 10 years of media (or whatever it is), is high.
GORs are merely a deterrent.
