He didn't want to hire Frost but did so against his better judgment. His wife was abusing staff and was threatened with a ban from campus. Nebraska had eyes on him drinking.

Glad he did!View attachment 1182365View attachment 1182366View attachment 1182367
Claims he had Dana Altman in the bag but Jim Pillen vetoed him when he was regent.
In general pig boy is pretty retarded, but he was 100% correct there. Let’s say Altmam comes. He gets to coach here forever, and about every 3rd year or so he managed to go .500. Status quo and awful hoops foreverAltman certainly would have been a good hire at the time. Glad things worked out with Fred of course. The authority Pillen assigns himself here sickens me.
I wouldn’t necessarily believe everything I read. Especially someone writing about himself.

All of this was known, and Moos doing this now is laughable. Didn’t the drunk (yes, he had a major problem and many people witnessed it.. myself included) sign Frost to that extension?
I will say it again for all those who snickered and claim nothing was going on: Moos, Frost, and Davison shouldn’t be allowed within 100 miles of the stadium.
The tradition coalition (and a ton of former players) have proven themselves incapable stewards of the program.
Bill’s wife seems like a swell person. Hilarious the ignorance towards her, while the subhumans in the fanbase attacked the previous coaches wife for NOT wanting to be in the spotlight whatsoever…
Husker fans at large deserved the Frost era.

Most likely, yes. He wasn’t anything at KState, and Nebraska takes basketball about as seriously as a low level non power 5 teamWell, im sure I have Altman higher than you do in the coach rankings.
Yes - needs to change now. Most likely, yes. He wasn’t anything at KState, and Nebraska takes basketball about as seriously as a low level non power 5 team
I think Altman has 20 straight 20 win seasons (it will gone this year) and a Final Four? Most likely, yes. He wasn’t anything at KState, and Nebraska takes basketball about as seriously as a low level non power 5 team
Holy ****, you used to post on the BigRedBoard! All of this was known, and Moos doing this now is laughable. Didn’t the drunk (yes, he had a major problem and many people witnessed it.. myself included) sign Frost to that extension?

Yeah, kinda. I think it also shows that there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen.Haven’t read the book, so it’s hard to draw firm conclusions from these excerpts. But it feels like Moos wants us to believe that he was a toothless AD-in-name-only and that the worst decisions NU made during his tenure were the result of other people walking all over him.
Not sure that’s any better than being thought of as incompetent, but to each his own.
Bingo… “I was a spineless coward” is about the kind of excuse I figured ole Billy Boy would come up with.Haven’t read the book, so it’s hard to draw firm conclusions from these excerpts. Or he is a drunken liar making sh$t up to make himself look good.Yeah, kinda. I think it also shows that there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen.
Could be!Or he is a drunken liar making sh$t up to make himself look good.
It’s not the initial hire of Frost that most people have a problem with. It’s the extension.Only at NU could the AD go get the two coaches that every fan wanted...and then get ripped on for it by the fans later on.
"With talk of the team winning it all after starting 5-1 and with PSU clearly targeting out coach, I just knew I had to extend his contract, I also knew I was the only one that was man enough to do it, so I did it, all on my own. "Can’t wait for Dannen’s memoir.
Yeah, that is true. It’s not the initial hire of Frost that most people have a problem with. It’s the extension.
Yep! He was not hired to not hire Frost.Even with a very bad interview and thinking to himself he isn’ ready for this, he still hired SF knowing that if he didn’t 95% of the fan base would have came after him with pitchforks.
Yeah, but the easy roadtrips were nice!It is to be expected that Moos’ thoughts about his legacy will try to put him in the most favorable light. And half truths and outright lies that aren’t likely to be officially countered are part of the fodder.
But I am a bit surprised that he thinks working to move Nebraska from the B1G to B12 reflects well on him. What a dumb move that would have been.
AmenNo doubt there would have been plenty of criticism of Moos from the fan-base if he hadn't landed Frost, and Frost went elsewhere. But it would have likely been short-lived if he had hired a quality coach and someone else, like Florida, got to experience the failure of Scott Frost not the Huskers. Frost would have been more likely to have been fired at Florida after 2 disappointing seasons, while Moos chose to extend him all the while continuing his apparent public charade that he "got the pick of the litter". Leaders lead, con men tell you want you want to hear.
100%. What a complete **** show. He was nothing more than a yes man, and Frost was the worst coach in school history. This place GUSHED over the whole thingNo doubt there would have been plenty of criticism of Moos from the fan-base if he hadn't landed Frost, and Frost went elsewhere.
