Yeah Bama is favored. All of us know that.

But 52-10?

The MSU-Bama matchup is the closest it has been since the 90s. We can debate just how close or un-close it is in favor of Bama. But regardless, its a much better matchup than it was the last few years. So why would there be an unprecedented blowout this year? No way that happens. No way at all.

I've given Barrett Sallee and his his cohorts at TBR more chances than Mike Henig. They don't hate us. They're just not very good.

I just don't understand why everyone nationally thinks this is gonna be a blowout. The 24-point spread is just a slap in the face. The last two games against Bama they beat us by 20 at Bama and by 17 at home (that game was 17-7 with 1:45 left in the 4th). The team we have this year is the best we have had in a long time, and the Bama team this year isn't as good as last year. Now someone is predicting us to lose by 42? Ridiculous

To change your mind? Are you aware of just how bad of shape our program was in before Mullen got here? It was similar to if auburn repeated this year for 7 of the next 8 years. That's a deep hole to climb out of and it doesn't happen overnight. Especially at a place like MSU. I realize that we have struggled to beat some of the best teams in recent times, but is that really the measuring stick? I don't think anyone is saying Mullen is the next Saban or other coaching legend, but he's far from average. If you can't see that, then you either have a personal agenda or you just don't understand what you're looking at. I tend to think its the latter.

Nuheisel (sp) is pretty average and he couldn't do it in a weak PAC 12 at a traditionally above average school. You can sit there and pretend your prediction of our struggling last year to make a bowl was based on the 'loss of firepower' because of exits of Diaz (still want to stick with that?) McPhee (Cox more than made up for pernell's exit on the DL) ballard and perkins not being the force (check the rushing stats for them) losing our best lb's (find someone who will say our lb corps were any bit of a liability), and certainly you were correct that Sherrod's loss hurt. That would make you wrong on 4 of the 5 items that lead to our struggle last year. No, your rationale was that we were overhyped and that somehow Mullen, not being able to beat bama, auburn, ark, lsu, east champ georgia, would reveal that he's just an average coach that would be considered for a hot seat.

You pay NO creedence still that the reason for the struggle last year actually stemmed from the rash of injuries on the most critcal place on the field.

AVERAGE coaches take schools like MSU in one year from finding them in shambles to back to back bowls all the freaking time. And of course, what makes them average? You got it. Not being able to beat 4 of the 5 schools in the sec west for 3 years. Makes all the sense in the world based on the accomplisments of those 4 teams.

What is patently dishonest on your part is pretending that your prediction wasnt based on crap that didnt materialize. Mullen isnt now or wont be by season end this year or next year on a hot seat because he was smart enough coach when you wrote that article to hold off throwing russell to the wolves when we couldnt protect him last year with the line dessimated. That isnt something average coaches do. They just throw them out there. Hot seat coaches cant turn a relf from what he found into what he became. They dont let Diaz go and keep Wilson.

I wasn't the only person saying Tennessee was legit after Week 1. Nobody knew David Amerson forgot how to play cornerback in the offseason.

Why do you think that the dismissal line is funny? It's not like he (or any coach) have 24/7 surveillance on their players. Some dismissals are on a coach and some aren't. Please explain where you're coming from, because I really don't know why you find that even remotely amusing.
