That's reality finally setting in. A few months stuck in jail will do that to anyone. He has nothing left to look forward to but a few more years in jail. Then will probably struggle for the rest of his life. He had one hell of a friend there in Tejay Johnson. One question why the hell was this guy allowed to be around the program? Flood has no one to blame but himself for allowing this low life to remain around the program he's just so clueless in many aspects. He should get a job at Disney Land so he can live in a fantasy world the rest of his life.

He was given a great opportunity and threw it all away. -I guess anyone foolish enough to do something like that, once the full impact of his stupidity has really sunk in, would look broken.

The only person he has to blame, though, is the guy who stares back at him from the mirror.

Huh??? You can't watch these kids 24/7. Your kidding right. The coach is not the warden for the school he cannot say who is and who is not allowed on campus. These kids are adults they make their own decisions. This has to be one of the most nonsensical things I've read. You people are way too on board for blaming Flood for everything....you do realize there are actually some things that are out of his & his coaches control right

Come on now, you know its not Scarlet Nation if every topic isn't turned into a Flood beating. Its really unbearable to be around here the past few weeks.

Sorry but Tejay Johnson was a known apple. It goes to show you what poor judgment Flood has. Thats not bashing its reality

I bet his *** is broken too...

When the 2nd report is released, I hope anyone who has uttered a word in support of Elmer since the summer, has the testicular fortitude to return here and own it.

If the rumors are true, this board is going to be broken, that's for sure.

Sorry, but Johnson came in on Schiano's watch. Realize it is popular to pile on Flood right now, but some of it was not him. However, it is on Flood to keep him around as student coach.

As for Boggs (and Johnson) simple hashtag: #idiots

My bet...Flood goes quietly at a nice negotiated price for a non-nuclear version of the report. If Flood plays hardball...look out.

My post was directed at Flood allowing him to remain around the team as a student coach on the field during practice. I'm not stupid I know there is nothing he can do about off the field issue's. But he sure as hell can do something during practice time where most of these friendships are forged. He basically said it's OK to hang out with this guy which it was not. He was a known bad egg and the ring leader in both incidents, nice guy to have as a student coach. So no I'm not kidding.

Generically speaking...

Nothing wrong with saying to your team: "listen, I can't police you guys, and I don't want you to feel you're being policed, but...any member of this football program caught hanging out with known gang members, be they a former member of this program or not, will be immediately suspended and potentially removed from the program."

Pretty simple IMHO.

Gets my goat every time I see/read about what these kids did. How many of us our still paying back our student loans, and are still thankful every day for our Rutgers educations and the opportunities that have come because of it. These dudes got free education, every privilege and all the assistance in the world, not to mention the NFL opportunity big time college football provides... And they took a huge dump all over it.

I can only hope they realize what they did, and turn it around once they've paid their debt. And then maybe figure out a way to make good on their lives and gift they were given.

Too bad. This guy has been doing dumb, shady ****, for a long time now (info I received in Oct 2013, and shared with quite a few on the boards whom I know personally, and trust, and not one of them have broken that trust since...). Not sure the particulars of what is, or isn't, going to come out, will contain, but I can't wait to laugh my *** off at all those who insisted, and still insist, that Flood is such a "nice guy."

lol...patience grasshopper, patience.

I will offer up this (and it is what is rumored...i want to be clear). All the the areas people always pointed to when his shortcomings were brought up (academics, clean program, "Rutgers men" ) will be severely "tested" if what I've heard is true.
Love the Kung Fu reference

Well done

Interesting but my bet is that Flood's attorney plays hardball in order to receive almost all of his severance package. If he caves in for a much lesser severance package that will tell us that the details of the report are really bad for Flood. But if that's the case then why didn't RU fire him for cause when they first suspended him ?

I hate those terms. What the hell is a "Rutgers man". Such a stupid term. It sounds like something the cult at Penn State would call their players. I can't wait to never hear "Rutgers man" and FAMILY every again with our next coach.

agree...I always thought the Flood supporters were so bogus pointing towards this anytime someone questions Floods on the field results and lack of wins and lack of recruiting stain and these people thought that Flood was some innovator in recruiting finding diamonds in the rough and honorable men that other coaches failed to nab.

I always argued I could care less about APR scores as long as they are in the top half of Power 5. Its about winning.....DUH...all the other excuses the Floodies brought up were just diversions because they had nothing to fall back when it came down to the nitty gritty

that's the thing...the fools..such followers....our fanbase needs to grow up and learn...this isn't the Ivies, it isn't the rah rah RU days of the 50s. RU is in the Big 10 now, it doesn't involve cheating, that's not what Im saying but I hope our fans who are a little slow to catch on drop the mom and pop routine. There is nothing nice about college football. Nice doesn't bring stain, nice doesn't bring wins. The sad thing is that nice may have been just a coverup for stupidity

Really... More crap. Let me guess. Flood knew the whole time and let them play. Don't tel me it's worse than that.
As for Boggs, it really just shows how bad support and not knowing right from wrong ends badly

I see that it's now time to get lectured about Flood by those "in the know". From what I remember, the vast majority of the Flood haters from a few years ago, questioned his competency as a coach because of his failures as the Oline coach not for personality flaws. God forbid those who aren't so blessed with inside sources actually put their faith in the man who coached this team and bought into the persona that he put out there.

Don't hurt yourselves patting your own backs, guys.

I'd like to propose a moratorium on the use of the word "stain."
