I keep telling people the fans were not booing Lee but were booing Riley and his decision to keep Lee in. I see a difference, do you think they were booing Lee or Rileys decision to keep Lee in?

I would have to assume that their line of thinking was much like mine at the time. I didn't think Lee should've been going in on that drive.

Both. Fans are pissed, I don't blame them. Lee (through no fault of his own) was touted a 1/1 in the draft...turns out he is RKIV

In my neck of the woods, everyone was pissed that other fans were booing Lee.

Whatever went down, it doesn't matter. The players probably took it as the fans siding against their teammates. That's an assumption; yes.

I would suggest to the booing fan, to do so when it's clear that it's the staff that is on the receiving end.... or not boo at all.

If any recent events could indicate, wallets seem to speak louder than boos.

Isn't this when the 17 play drive started?

I thought OBrein should of came in then, too. When He didn’t I heard the boos and it just made me sick. Even Matt D on the radio couldn’t believe we (our fans) booed. Matt said “you NEVER Boo our players”, “yes I’m upset Lee had another pick 6 and felt maybe OBrein may have been a good idea, but you never Boo our own players at our stadium”. And I fully agree. This has gotten stupid. We claim to be countries best Fans but we Boo our own players because they struggle. Again, it made me sick. I was upset like everyone and couldn’t believe OBrein didn’t get his shot then, but it never crossed my mind to Boo. That’s something lll NEVER DO. F_cking sad, almost as sad as fans hoping and rooting for Rutgers to win just to see Riley fired. Best fans in the country “bull sh_t”!

There is not middle ground if you want fans in the seats to watch crappy play then at some point the boo birds will come out. Nebraska is no different than anywhere , probably a bit nicer.

If the play continues to be horrible then fans will just stop coming and watching, then no more boos

Sorry but I’m 100% behind Matt here, you never Boo our players. We are the Huskers, we are all 1 and your support our team win or lose. I get being unhappy, hell I was too. But again it never crossed my mind to Boo. I’m glad we won and Lee for the most part pulled it together, well enough for us to win. GBR. Illinois next, short week of practice for us while they hand by week and time to rest and two solid weeks to prepare for us. Should be right game.

Than don't come...better to not come to show frustration, than to boo the players. They're in college for God sakes.

Heh, no kidding..

Not that I agree with booing..

Haven't bumped into you in a while. How's it been?

I have no opinion one way or the other myself. I can't control what the blue hairs and students at the stadium do. If the fans are pissed let it be known. He was hyped as all hell before the season and he has gave more points up than the defense the last two games.

In my opinion Nebraska fans should never boo the players or the coaches. On game day, you are in the stands to support the team and to help create an atmosphere that is conducive to Nebraska winning and the other guys losing. There are also recruits at these games. And parents who have brought their kids to the game for the first time to introduce them to Husker football. And visitors/outsiders who are taking in a Husker game for the first time. And a national TV audience. And loyal fans from 400 mikes away who have been coming to every game without fail for 40 years.

Booing is just a selfish and emotional thing to do. It serves no purpose at all. You say you don't like Riley or the product on the field? Stay home and sell your ticket to someone else who has respect for the fact that when you are in that grand old stadium you have decades of fan tradition to uphold.

There are many other ways to express our frustration with Riley. This is the age of social media for crying out loud. Send him a fecking twitter

Better than giving him his first snap against Wisconsin....

There are 18 to 22 year olds in Afghanistan right now.

I was an 18-22 year old coming home from overseas and remember getting booed as I came off the plane because people didn't agree with the decisions made by people way above my pay grade. It sucked ***,

I was defending the country not playing a freaking game. Poor analogy.

not to hijack this thread, as a Vet myself thank you Tuco for your service. I myself never served overseas or in combat so what you did IMO classifies you as a hero. Thank you!

Thanks for your service. You, of all people, are entitled to your opinion. I don't agree, though. If these young men can't handle some heat from something relatively trivial like a football game, how would they have handle being in your shoes?
