Bradford's back...Norris is back....Brownlee is day to day......What's the status of Bracewell
It depends on whether or not Evan Mitchell pitches tomorrow and to a degree- whether or not Ben comes in out of the bullpen or not. I feel confident in saying that Caleb Reed will not start Sunday. The only way Reed would have started is if both Stratton and Graveman had pitched complete games. The odds of that before the series were pretty slim- and as it is Reed pitched tonight.
If Ben starts- I think we might get 3 innings out of him if we're lucky. It will essentially be a bullpen game.
Personally, I really think they want Evan to start.
Stark has been throwing in the bullpen this week and he looks good- problem is his hamstring isn't quite healed and he still has trouble moving and the coaches are worried that everyone is going to bunt the ball at him. He probably could pitch if we absolutely need him too- and that might happen this weekend.
But they're going to go with about as many people as possible before that happens. Stark probably will pitch either Tues. or against South Carolina if the coaches have their drouthers.
Will Cox isn't ready for the SEC yet. None of the other freshmen are either. Evan Mitchell is and Ben Bracewell is though- both would be better options than Cox. Actually, I would probably try Routt before Cox right now to be honest with you. Will will be a SEC starter in time though- no doubt he is going to be a quality pitcher for us. We have good problem for the future with Woodruff, Lindgren, Fitts, and Cox as far as the future goes- all three could start, but one if I had to guess would be the closer- probably Woodruff? Holder, Ross Mitchell, and even Tanner Gaines look good as far as relief prospects go too- and I really like a recruit that we have coming in next year named John Marc Shelly. He can throw 95 right now.
