I got the email from Selmon a few minutes ago. I don't know. It's nice and probably something to show off.

If you want eggs, you gotta have chickens.

Nah, you just need a nearby grocery store***

This project is the equivalent of buying a 150 acre farm with zero crop yield, hoping that it will be an attractive place for chickens you don’t even have to lay eggs…..when you’ve already got 5 acres behind your back porch with plenty of room for them to roam and nest.

Just spend the money on the damn chickens.

Yeah, I don’t know how much this really moves the needle with a recruit. Feels like 1998. I know how much 50K more does.
So you think one of the wealthiest families in MS just made a $60MM football investment, but we are also struggling to put $50K together to land a recruit? This board, man.

This is why, before college athletes were paid (above the table), some SEC facilities were better than some NFL facilities. NFL facilities are functional; they aren't big selling points in free agency. I think this is the direction we are going in college sports as well. Recruits aren't choosing based on facilities; they are choosing based on salary.

I think a lot of schools are going to have to work to find the 22-ish million a year for the rev share. Some schools can take that hit easily. A lot cannot.

State, in its traditional manner, is 20 years behind everyone else. The only exception being the Baseball field, which was very forward thinking at that time. Now if we could only find some baseball NIL funding to buy a team.

I just hope a punter can't hit the roof like the old one. If he can, then it needs to be 20' higher than what ever was planned.

Two problems:

1.) No FEMA-approved blue roof
2.) Does NOT look like the promised twin of Dorman

We've been begging for donor money for this how long now?

This doesn't mean MSU is wealthy. It means we found a few suckers.
You're right. Byrne, Stricklin, and Cohen's bitchass couldn't get it done. It took Selmon two years and he's pulling in the largest investments in MSU athletics history. It's making some of you sick.

Florida didn't even have an indoor practice facility until 2020 and they seemed to do OK without one. I mean yeah, this is nice and all, but it's not like top football recruits are suddenly going to come running to Starkville.

But at least State will lay some eggs in style… **

It's a damn roof on an existing practice field. And he's had his hand out begging for money for it since he's been here. The Howards have had this kind of money for a long time.

I'm glad he got someone to finally step up. I hate that he let the baseball program go to hell during the process.

When he's out of town on the next thing smoking, are you going to follow him, or drop to your knees and assume the position for his replacement?

The Howard's have a ton of money, so i'm curious why they didn't give this donation during the previous 3-4 Administrations? Just a coincidence i'm sure.

17 the baseball program and dorks like you that act like what happens in baseball matters to Mississippi State or affects the AD's job whatsoever. It's a sport that loses money every year so losers like you can have a circle jerk with all the other fat 17s in the LFL.

It's 17ing depressing reading the comments on this. We just had a $60MM football investment and people are complaining
Man, I hear you. I know you and I have had some back and forth this week, but that facility looks great, and that kind of investment in the program is a rare bright spot we’ve had in the past few years. I honestly hope it does in fact make a big difference in recruiting and player development.

Your first paragraph made me laugh out loud.

Your last paragraph is why you should not be taken seriously by anyone.

I'm not a LFL'er. But that program's success is a big part of the AD's job requirement here at MSU.
