If you want eggs, you gotta have chickens.I hate to be that guy, but we need athletes more than we need athletic facilities.
Yeah, I don’t know how much this really moves the needle with a recruit. Feels like 1998. I know how much 50K more does.I hate to be that guy, but we need athletes more than we need athletic facilities.
If you want eggs, you gotta have chickens.
We’ve had an indoor facility for over two decades. When you're the only SEC without one, it's a big deal
So you think one of the wealthiest families in MS just made a $60MM football investment, but we are also struggling to put $50K together to land a recruit? This board, man.Yeah, I don’t know how much this really moves the needle with a recruit. Feels like 1998. I know how much 50K more does.
This is why, before college athletes were paid (above the table), some SEC facilities were better than some NFL facilities. NFL facilities are functional; they aren't big selling points in free agency. I think this is the direction we are going in college sports as well. Recruits aren't choosing based on facilities; they are choosing based on salary.Yeah, I don’t know how much this really moves the needle with a recruit. Feels like 1998. I keep waiting on the Peavey family to put some bad *** speakers in the stadium. *****So you think one of the wealthiest families in MS just made a $60MM football investment, but we are also struggling to put $50K together to land a recruit? This board, man.
Free-Range Chickens on the South Farm……..when you’ve already got 5 acres behind your back porch with plenty of room for them to roam and nest.
Well call Mr Howard and tell him to redirect that money!!I hate to be that guy, but we need athletes more than we need athletic facilities.
I think a lot of schools are going to have to work to find the 22-ish million a year for the rev share. Some schools can take that hit easily. A lot cannot. So you think one of the wealthiest families in MS just made a $60MM football investment, but we are also struggling to put $50K together to land a recruit? This board, man.
It's easier to put the nameWell call Mr Howard and tell him to redirect that money!!
Billy W. Howard Sr.
on a building than it is a football team. It's 17ing depressing reading the comments on this. We just had a $60MM football investment and people are complainingGosh almighty, some of y'all will b!tch about absolutely anything. Please read the Vagisil directions before applying.
State, in its traditional manner, is 20 years behind everyone else. The only exception being the Baseball field, which was very forward thinking at that time. Now if we could only find some baseball NIL funding to buy a team. This is why, before college athletes were paid (above the table), some SEC facilities were better than some NFL facilities. NFL facilities are functional; they aren't big selling points in free agency. I think this is the direction we are going in college sports as well. We've been begging for donor money for this how long now?A $60MM football investment is really going to piss off all the losers on here who keep yelling about how poor MSU is
well, half of one. For half the time. We’ve had an indoor facility for over two decades.
I like my eggs brown.Free-Range Chickens on the South Farm…![]()
This facility isn't chickens, it's a decent chicken coop with some "state of the art" chicken runs.If you want eggs, you gotta have chickens.
Florida didn't even have an indoor practice facility until 2020 and they seemed to do OK without one. I mean yeah, this is nice and all, but it's not like top football recruits are suddenly going to come running to Starkville. If you want eggs, you gotta have chickens.
You're right. Byrne, Stricklin, and Cohen's bitchass couldn't get it done. It took Selmon two years and he's pulling in the largest investments in MSU athletics history. It's making some of you sick. We've been begging for donor money for this how long now?
This doesn't mean MSU is wealthy. It means we found a few suckers.
Building a top end chicken coop is expensive - why eggs are so high. This facility isn't chickens, it's a decent chicken coop with some "state of the art" chicken runs.

It's a damn roof on an existing practice field. And he's had his hand out begging for money for it since he's been here. The Howards have had this kind of money for a long time. You're right. Byrne, Stricklin, and Cohen's bitchass couldn't get it done. It took Selmon two years and he's pulling in the largest investments in MSU athletics history. It's making some of you sick.
The Howard's have a ton of money, so i'm curious why they didn't give this donation during the previous 3-4 Administrations? Just a coincidence i'm sure. It's a damn roof on an existing practice field. And he's had his hand out begging for money for it since he's been here. I'm glad he got someone to finally step up. I hate that he let the baseball program go to hell during the process.
When he's out of town on the next thing smoking, are you going to follow him, or drop to your knees and assume the position for his replacement?
Man, I hear you. I know you and I have had some back and forth this week, but that facility looks great, and that kind of investment in the program is a rare bright spot we’ve had in the past few years. I honestly hope it does in fact make a big difference in recruiting and player development. It's 17ing depressing reading the comments on this. We just had a $60MM football investment and people are complaining
Your first paragraph made me laugh out loud. The Howard's have a ton of money, so i'm curious why they didn't give this donation during the previous 3-4 Administrations? Just a coincidence i'm sure.
17 the baseball program and dorks like you that act like what happens in baseball matters to Mississippi State or affects the AD's job whatsoever. It's a sport that loses money every year so losers like you can have a circle jerk with all the other fat 17s in the LFL.
