I'm there a well. Lebby went looking for another qb and we didn't get one that was better than the one we had. The plays are there. We just need to continue to improve there and o line line we have and have on defense.
The thing that will forever make me ill about that game was that Florida knew or guessed the play call. And the least athletic, slowest guy on the field won the game for Florida. A team with a lame duck coach and all freshman secondary. SickeningWe just didn’t execute.
It was good enough for a bowl every year, but people like you weren’t happy with just a bowl game every year and now you’ve got this ….. left behind. This fire Lebby crap after getting us right there is BS. The Players still have to do it. Shapen may not be the guy but dammit, neither was Holloway up the middle 10 times a game.

When said employee has doubled production in a year, how in the heck do you know it isn't going to work. If you are going to fire people for doubling production you ain't gonna be able to get anyone to work for you that you would really want to work for you, especially when you already have a rep for a quick trigger, which we absolutely do.Saying you can’t get rid of an employee that you know isn’t going to work just doesn’t make any sense.
We’re not “doubling production” in any meaningful statistical category. If you’re counting win total as “doubling production”, then you have to take into account that one of the reasons he was able to double his win total this year is because he got skull drug by 17ing Toledo last year. When said employee has doubled production in a year, how in the heck do you know it isn't going to work. Send me your cell # and I'll add you to a couple of text threads. I am friends with plenty of emotionally immature hotheads.I have not seen a ton of people calling for Lebby to fired. I’m sure there is plenty of it though.
I can give you 14 million reasons why it makes senseSaying you can’t get rid of an employee that you know isn’t going to work just doesn’t make any sense.
Can we put to bed the argument about head coaches calling the plays. Its really not that big of a deal.Seems like he makes a lot of stupid play calls. A head coach probably has 20 things to worry with going on at any time during a game. An OC only has one thing to worry about. I am sorry he has to decide does he want to be a HC or a OC. At this time of his career trying to learn the ropes of a HC can't do both.
Three overthrown passes for TDs isn’t on the coach. Shapen has been making those throws all year. He just blew it.That last possession was not the only blown scoring opportunity. We're seeing mental mistakes all over the field. That all comes down to coaching.
I don't have a problem with throwing a pass in that situation either. I just expect a much better effort coming out of a timeout.
I'm not sure firing Lebby makes sense right now. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if we make a change, though.
I said this elsewhere, but no, most college coaches are not putting the ball in the air there, especially ones that have OLs that struggle protecting the QB and a QB that has a propensity to get rattled. You run the ball and then clock it 100 out of 100 times and kick the FG. If Ferrie ends up missing the kick, at least as a coach you put your team in position to win the game and the conversation among the fanbase is completely different afterward. He’s right. I don’t even find it controversial we were throwing the ball in that situation. I think most college coaches are putting the ball in the air there in today’s game.
As a fan base we’re acting like we’re Lovie Smith and the Bears. Our kicker missed a FG from that exact distance earlier in the game, and against A&M.
And we had been killing them through the air. We had 150 yards passing in the 4Q alone. They had freshman chasing open WRs on that play too. We just didn’t execute.
That’s a great story, but that’s all it is. A story. Back in the day of hard 20 and 25 limits on high schoolers to feed your team annually it may have relevance. Today’s game a coach can flip his entire team every year and some are doing it and winning games. We’ve largely done it and still can’t win. Then he had to bring in 2 more DC’s cause he didn’t wanna fire his 1st year ever DC that sucked so bad. He gave a mil to bring in a QB that won’t see the field from FSU. The future at QB was gifted him and he won’t play him. He’s spending money like it ain’t his. He’s calling awful games. And making the simplest of mistakes costing games. Not to mention he’s got his building closed off to media and fans. He’s not it.Walker is correct. Some of y'all have never come to terms with just how bare the cupboard was when Lebby got here. Some of you also act like we have unlimited money to spend. We have a lot more than we used to but when you are trying to get new players for nearly every position that money doesn't go very far. Many of us said at the start of the season we could be a LOT better and the record might not show it. It HAS shown it, but the starting point was so dang low. You don't come back from how bad we were last year overnight, or in one year. The absolute worst move we could make right now is fire the coach.
OC needs to be up in the press box so he can see what's going on from bird eye view. That's where it's a big deal. Who's talking to the QB before the ball is snap? Can we put to bed the argument about head coaches calling the plays. Its really not that big of a deal.
Why not? There’s gonna be a huge pool of experienced candidates out there to choose from. I think it’s the best time to hire a former head coach. And we won’t be competing with many of the schools with openings anyway.I agree that we shouldn't fire him. Not because he isn't worthy of firing. Simply because I don't want to be hunting for a coach during this offseason.
I don’t think you can put the argument to bed when sнit like Saturday continues to happen. Can we put to bed the argument about head coaches calling the plays. Its really not that big of a deal.
This is my frustration. I was part of the crowd sort of making fun of the people that had reset expectations so quickly. I was expecting 4 wins this year and would have said I'd consider 5 wins a sign Lebby is going to be pretty solid for us. I was not expecting any SEC team to work so hard to give us a W that we just would not take. It looked like both teams wanted their coach fired last night at times. We literally got beat by a dumpster fire Florida team who fired their coach the next day. That was an SEC win put on a tee, and you swing and miss. There’s not many of those opportunities in this league, it’s usually all fast balls.
College football is a highly emotional sport, and if people like BW want to spend time responding to social media posts made within 24 hrs of a gut wrenching loss, that’s on them.
With that said, our fans have a right to be frustrated and disappointed.
The turnover was disappointing
The fact that Shapen was given the opportunity to completely screw up was disappointing
My concern is that us pissing away wins is going to hammer us in recruiting. Hard for a head coach to sell coming to a program that is 0-16 in conference, even if he can honestly say his most recent 0-8 run was much improved from his first 0-8 run.The fact that Shapen remains as our best option at QB is disappointing
Lebby’s continued shoot from the hip management of the offense is disappointing
Lebby’s winless SEC record is disappointing
Should Lebby be fired? Probably not, at least not yet. But his coaching resume desperately needs an SEC win, and he just completely pissed one away on Saturday.

How many people have you fired? There are lots of reasons to that businesses rightly wait to get rid of the wrong guy. I've seen businesses wait because they want a new person (rather than somebody retiring in under a year) to make the hire. Several times it's because having the person there is better than nobody being there, and they wanted to at least have a plan for how they would operate with out them. One time they wanted to push more responsibilities to a relatively inexperienced employee that's well thought of to see if they could be the replacement before hiring somebody over them and losing them as a result. You don't just fire somebody because you know you could eventually do better. You need a plan for the short and long term.Saying you can’t get rid of an employee that you know isn’t going to work just doesn’t make any sense.
